I had a core i7 2600k, while rendering it usted to have 90°C, therefore i bought my H80i then it went downt to 60°C max. Now i changed to 6700k and it goes up to 82°C even with liquid cooler. Anyone know what can be the problem? Maybe the thermal paste?

Everything at default?

Known issue with some 6700K; the IHS has less-than-ideal contact with the die.

Many have significantly lowered temperatures by de-lidding and replacing the OEM TIM with a liquid metal-type TIM.

My personal experience: by de-lidding my 6700K, and replacing the OEM TIM with Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut, I went from the mid-80°C range running IBT at maximum with the CPU overclocked to 4700MHz @ 1.35 VCore, to barely over 70°C running the same IBT with the CPU overclocked to 4830 MHz @ 1.39 VCore.

Whats the fan configuration on your HAF case? & what thermal paste are you using?

Stupid me. My honest mistake. I read the 2600k half then my brain kind of turned off lol

the 2600k just runs cold, i did similar (2500k -> 3770k) and got way hotter temps, despite lower volts + lower wattage (measured at wall comparing CPU load)

I delidded and used CLU (liquid metal thermal paste) to get my temps down lower on the 3770k, as i found the increase shocking too.

I have a 240 mm fan on front pushing air inside, one on side 120 pulling air outside, one on top 120 mm, pushing air inside, plus the 2 120 mm that comes with the h80i both pulling air outside case. I dont undestand alot of what you guys say since im not a pro in this, mi cpu got broken so i took it to a guy whom used a termal paste i dont know wich brand but i seriosly doubt it is a "pro" one.

could it be possible that if i change my thermal paste to a MX4 temps will drop?

Change the fan set up buy 4 corsair AF120's put 2 at the front pulling air into the case and 2 at the top pulling air out of the case. Turn that 120mm on your side panel to pull air inside the case but make sure theres a decent dust filter.

Alternatively buy some Silverstone AP121 fans and they will help channel the air across your hot components. 3x ap 121's. 2 at the front and 1 at the side. I had the same configuration but 140mm in an older case

before you buy anything. just reverse the top and side fans. double check that the inside fan on the h80 blows into the radiator and the outside fan blows out the back of the case. backof case<F<R<F

double check that you aren't in silent mode in the corsair fan app.

Everything at default?

Known issue with some 6700K; the IHS has less-than-ideal contact with the die.

Many have significantly lowered temperatures by de-lidding and replacing the OEM TIM with a liquid metal-type TIM.

My personal experience: by de-lidding my 6700K, and replacing the OEM TIM with Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut, I went from the mid-80°C range running IBT at maximum with the CPU overclocked to 4700MHz @ 1.35 VCore, to barely over 70°C running the same IBT with the CPU overclocked to 4830 MHz @ 1.39 VCore.

actually 3770k its the begining of that crappy repasted processor, sandies are the last soldered chips sir, since ivy bridge core i7 are way hotter....

dont worry, and also MX4 TIM is one of the best outthere...

thats why i delidded + used CLU on my CPU die :D

it's such a shock going from such cold running chips, to newer, more efficient, lower power chips.... that run 30C hotter on the same cooling :/

my locked 3770 its delidded, too, they are way hotter when full speed or heavy loads, but when you delid the temps lower a lot, its pretty noticeable,
