Where to buy display cable?

I would like to buy a display cable to connect between a laptop and a TV, not for gaming.

What I want:

- A complete cable, no adapters
- Male Displayport 1.2 - male HDMI 2.0 (or higher), no mini variants.
- 3840 x 2160 resolution.
- 60 Hz refresh rate.

Does it exist, does anyone know?

i think you can ask for that in computer shops or electronic shops
you can buy it locally

The city I live in is not very big. If I can't find it online it's safe to say it doesn't exist locally.

The thing is, you HAVE to use an adapter to convert from DP to HDMI 2.0. That is why just a cable doesn't exist.

Not really. There are several mini Displayport to HDMI cables available, both passive and active. I need a regular Displayport tho.

I have yet to see any active ones, which is what is required for HDMI 2.0.

I didnt check exactly what you want, but, Monoprice (dot com) has lots of cables/connectors etc, cheap!

+1 to checking out Monoprice for a good cable selection, and Amazon does too...but HDMI 1.4 seems to be the peak without an active adapter as @newtekie1 pointed out. I just did a quick search, but here's a cable w/o adapter and an adapter.

With cables like this, if you're having trouble finding it...there's usually a good reason. In this case it appears an active adapter is that reason. GLWYS. :toast:

Monoprice avoids the term HDMI and calls it HDTV, dunno if it's because of some licensing issue. Unfortunately, they didn't have what I'm looking for.
The last month I've been checking loads of pages, amazon as well, but there's always something missing for each and every cable.

By the way, there are active DP - HDMI cables available.

Dam, I did some digging for that..lol.. Well that sucks because cables are a total crap shoot right now. It's very hard to find good ones, that actually work as advertised sometimes. I really don''t know what's available in your region.. Good luck bud..

I hear ya. I don't expect to find what I need here in Sweden anyway. Speaking of crap shoot, that's another reason I don't want an adapter, because it could potentionally make it harder to find a working solution. Adapters and cables that won't play nice together isn't anything new.

By going for a quality cable without using an adapter there's one thing less that can mess things up. Crap shoot x 2? No thanks.

The first one doesn't mention refresh rate at 4k, the second one is an obvious choice as soon as I give up my quest for a perfect cable.
