Connection problem with video card and motherboard.

I have a problem with my new motherboard ( ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 ) and my video card ( GIGABYTE GV-R927XOC-2GD Radeon R9 270X 2GB ).

If i bump my computer even the slightest or if my son goes bouncing by my monitor will go black. I will ether need to restart my computer or sometimes open the side panel and give the video card a little push in and it will all work fine.

I never had this problem with my old motherboard and this video card just this new one. I have tried using something to support the video from sagging down at all even tho it doesn't but that still didn't help.

Anybody out there know what i can do to fix this problem?

Can you lay your case on its side and see if it still has this problem?

I have tried that and it still does it just it takes a little harder hit or bounce but still not really that hard of a hit or bounce. And also I really don't have the room to lay it on its side all the time.

Is the GPU seating properly? Sometimes, the tabs on the bottom of the expansion slot covers attached to the GPU don't fit through the slots in the motherboard tray.

Can you try using one of the lower slots and see if it still have this problem?

Forgive my Noobness but this is my first at the time High end Motherboard and ether completely forgot or didn't realize that two out of the 4 full size PCI-E slots run at full 16X speed. But thanks for your tip that worked now I don't have to worry about if i bump my computer or when my son is jumping around the screen going blank thxs again.

If moving the card to a different PCI-e slot resolved your problem, you demonstrated a fault with your "NEW" expensive motherboard. You need to RMA it as this may be just one (and/or the first) of multiple problems to appear.

If me, I would move the card back to the original slot and see if the problem returns. If it works fine, then I might assume something was just loose before. But if the problem returns, that conclusively proves the motherboard is defective and I would not hesitate to return it under warranty immediately.

Some GPU circuit boards have very poor clearance on some HSs or other components on the MB. Here's a post on Tom's where a guy had a problem seating an AMD HD7850 GPU in the top slot on that MB because the GPU PCB hit the SATA ports.

This kind of thing is usually caused by sloppy GPU PCB offsets, not the MB components. I seriously doubt a MB of that grade is at fault. More likely the R9 270x.

I had the same exact problem my daughter on one of those bouncy balls with a handle that you sit on it bounce around it turned out that I use the incorrect standoff of the problematic build made of something else or I don't know but the ground right
