AMD today released the Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.11.2 hotfix, highlighting an improved Shader Cache storage limit, which will allow the Shader Cache feature to store more shaders for extremely demanding games that may have previously hit the old storage cap.

Apart from that, not much is new, since it includes all of the previous 16.11 branch driver fixes and optimizations. The software release also includes an updated "Known Issues" list, which you can read after the break. As always, you can grab the drivers right here at TechPowerUp - just follow the links bellow.

Download: AMD Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.11.2 Hotfix for Windows 10 64-bit | Windows 10 32-bit | Windows 8.1 64-bit | Windows 8.1 32-bit | Windows 7 64-bit | Windows 7 32-bit

Known Issues:

  • A few game titles may fail to launch, experience performance issues or crash if the third party application "Raptr" has its game overlay enabled. A workaround is to disable the overlay if this is experienced.
  • DOTA2 may experience a crash when launched using the Vulkan API on some Graphics Core Next products.
  • Battlefield1 may experience an intermittent application specific error message popup citing graphics device removal
  • Flickering may be experience while playing Overwatch in the main menu or viewing character models using AMD CrossFire mode.
  • H.264 content playback may experience playback issues on internet browsers with hardware acceleration when also running gaming applications or content.
  • FIFA 17 may experience an application hang or black screen on launch for some select Hybrid Graphics or AMD PowerXpress mobile configurations.
  • H.264 content may experience blocky corruption when streaming using P2P content players on some Radeon RX 400 series graphics products.

surely they can fix issues if they can reproduce them enough to consider them known issues....so why release it then you could drill out those fixes in 1 or 2 more days? or is that a never ending cycle? and they release hotfixes weekly or something?

Sorry new Radeon owner, at least since HD 4890, GTX 560 finally croaked on me and got a new RX 470 at best buy, apparently they now match newegg and amazon prices :)

ahh well what a relief, i hope joining the red camp this gen won't come to bite me. Very happy with performance in crysis(yep still play it once a year), shadow of mordor. Need to get some newer games now that i'm not stuck on GTX 560
