AMD is readying a new graphics card promotion for Holiday 2016. The company is planning to give away game keys to "Sid Meier's Civilization VI" with both the 4 GB and 8 GB variants of its Radeon RX 480 graphics cards. Available through participating retailers, and in select markets, the promotion will be applicable to both the reference and custom-design graphics cards. Sapphire, for example, is giving away keys to the game with both its NITRO+ and reference-design RX 480 cards. Purchase receipts for the cards will come with special promotion codes that can be redeemed on the AMD Rewards website to enable the game directly to your Steam account. The 6th edition of the smash-hit turn-based strategy game, "Civilization VI" takes advantage of DirectX 12 through its latest patch, the Radeon RX 480 meets or exceeds its recommended system requirements.

Shouldn't it be better "Sid Meier's Civilization VI" is giving away RX480?.....:D:p

This deal nearly made me pull the trigger on buying one... must resist, funds are low...

Interesting pair, considering when TPU tested Civ VI their conclusion was: "AMD cards seriously lag behind in performance, with the RX 480 unable to reach 60 FPS at even 1080p".
Then again, this is not a fast paced game, 60fps is probably not needed.

Looks like it has a problem with AMD. Fury X loses to 1060 3GB. Looks to be terribly optimized all-around and AMD really got shafted.

Probably the same problems that were present in Civ 5 (nV had some driver features Civ 5 used, that AMD was missing) fortunately the game is a perfectly playable at 20 fps since its a turn based game and the cursor is rendered independent from the rest, giving it a smooth feel even at 20 fps.

Wasn't there an article stating that AMD is working closely with Firaxis on DX12 for this title. What happened in the meantime?
