Looks like EVGA is putting the issues with the GTX 1080/1070/1050 FTW line of cards behind them, after handling the issue the best way they could. The company has now begun teasing a new addition to their GeForce product stack, with the company's Product Manager, Jacob Freeman, publishing a tease on Twitter regarding an upcoming GTX 1080, the FTW2, which features iCX cooling.

Time to upgrade again soon @Knoxx29 :D

FTW2, better, faster....:D:p

Idk, EVGA killed its image for me after the whole thermal pad debacle.

I'm not one for being dramatic but, if EVGA doesn't allow an upgrade from the ACX 3.0 cooler here... then my gtx 1070 ftw will be the last card I ever spend money on from EVGA again. This seems like a BS marketing and money move. Way to be a jack-a$$ EVGA

I am more than happy with my 1080 Classified

Oh ok then, thought you had a FTW...:D
My mistake..

@Knoxx29 Off topic, but will you still upgrade your CPU anytime soon?
Or changed your mind not to?

I'll be curious to see the technical details on how the ICX is actually different from ACX. Seems more just like a marketing thing to put the ACX bad PR behind them.

I ended up switching my ACX to the hybrid cooler anyway and have been very happy with my oc and temps (and did the pads and new paste at the time). It seems like something where if you haven't upgraded to the 10 series yet it might be worth it, otherwise at this point you might want to wait for the 1080ti and Vega. Even if you don't go with those, their release should drive prices down a bit on the 1070/1080s. But maybe they'll do a ACX->ICX upgrade offer.

Only remember guys, before buying ask for thermal pad for VRM.

It makes me wonder who at EVGA thought it would be a good idea to release a completely new cooler (and market it as such) versus just redesigning the existing ACX coolers. They had to know that people were going to be pissed.
