Exactly. It is highly explosive. A stray spark or static charge will set it off.

Can you drive with a dewar full of LN2? or are there special restrictions/safety requirements for its transportation?

I could maybe make the trip down to the North of England myself...!

I know, I'm still trying.

I'm emailing companies who I've been put in touch with.

I've also posted at overclock.net asking if anyone knows any Scottish over-clockers

I believe we're very few in Scotland.

To give you an idea of that.. Scotland only has a population of 5 million. The entire U.K is 65 million.

But look how big we are compared to England.

That's why its so hard to get LN2 here.

Never even got fibre broadband here until a year ago, lol.

Seriously though, just stick to the acetone.

A good combo DI/LN2 pot was K|NGP|N's Dragon Evo, or anything with a chunky base, steps, and a center pole. It becomes problematic once you need fine temperature control, but I used one for like a year before moving to an F1.

As far as driving around with LN2 in your car, you'll be fine. Just buckle it in so you don't get burns if you have to slam on the brakes/get in an accident :toast:

I may of found an LN2 supplier too

(got something on the table now at least).

Initially I wanted to start with the GPU (as I'm very active at the 1080 owners club on overclock.net). Done quite a lot for the community over there so it seemed like a natural next step.

However I've listened to the advice from people on here and decided to start with my old FX 8350 (mainly due to absence of the cold-bug on AMD FX CPU line).

Also if I blow the board/chip up in my first ever LN2 experience, it doesn't matter as I'm due a CPU upgrade soon

My mobo doesn't allow me to go over 1.7v I think. So I'll be limited that way:

But I do believe at these extreme temps you won't need as much voltage for the same clocks (as the chip conducts better at lower temps) so I should still be able to have some fun

Can't wait for it to all arrive and to find out if this LN2 supplier thing works out for me

I've got a business development manager from 'BOC Gases' telephoning me tomorrow (they normally only deal with industrial/commercial.

And another smaller, newer company willing to meet me half way. (still a 4hr round trip)

£50 for one months dewar hire (50L)
+
£50 for 50L of LN2.
= £100 (or 125 U.S dollars)
/\ best quote I could get so far (due to my distance & smaller amount)

How long would that last me, anyone? (50L of LN2)?

Depends on what processor and how much you plan on benching. I can go through 20L in a session no problem.
