SSD free space

Hi all,
I have a 120GB SSD with 60GB free space at the moment (OS and programs only). I would like to install The Witcher III on it with its 50GB size. Will that 10GB free space be enough, while I complete the game?
I have read about 25% free space on SSD for optimal performance, and I'm afraid of losing some performance during the game because of this. Does it matter at all?

I would think you will be able to get by like that. Maybe you could get some space back by turning off system restore then turn it back on and create one new restore point and that will free up some space...maybe do a disk clean up with system files too and that will also give you some more free space. The two things above can have huge results. Good luck!

Should be fine. To lop of 25% of your drive is ludacris.

As was said above, look at wiping out some restore points or shrink your page file to 2gb or so off auto to reclaim some space.

Check under C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver
Remove all previous installed (old) drivers, this will free up some extra space.

Thank you guys! I have already done everything you mentioned above (turn off restore point, disk clean up, delete hiberfil.sys), except deleting old Nvidia drivers. With this I have gained 1,91GB extra space (thanks P4-630).

Pagefile is set to fix 8GB. I think it's too much. How much would be the optimal size with 8GB physical RAM?

You should be fine with 4096 Mebibytes or 4 Gibibytes

On the SSD for trim it should be I'd say 10 percent.

Perform a system clean-up of your SSD:

In Windows Explorer, right-click on your C: drive and select "Properties".
On the "General" tab, click on [ Disk Cleanup ]. Wait for the scan to finish.
If the "Disk Cleanup" window displays a [ Clean up system files ] button in the bottom-left corner, click on it. Wait for the scan to finish.
Look at the list of "Files to delete". Everything on there is fair game. Select the ones to purge, then click on [ OK ].

One more place to check: launch Windows Explorer and browse to "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download". The files and folders in there are leftovers from Windows Update; you don't need them anymore. Delete the contents of the folder (but not the "Download" folder itself).

The amount of junk that Windows will accumulate can be stunning.
