AMD in a press release today, stated that in its 2017 "Capsaicin Live" event held on the sidelines of the Game Developers Conference, it will reveal "exciting new details surrounding Vega," its next-generation GPU architecture, on which the company is expected to launch its next high-end graphics card. The company is hosting the much talked about "Capsaicin and Cream" launch event on the 28th February, 2017. It is expected to launch its next-generation Ryzen performance desktop processors, and talk some more about its "Vega" GPU architecture. Besides Ryzen and Vega, AMD will showcase some of Summer 2017's most anticipated AAA game launches that take advantage of VR.

Disgusting. Trying to take the glamour away from the incoming GTX1080ti.

And do they think they can outshine their own Ryzen release? These paper launches are a disgrace.

See what I did there?
:p

They should call "Vega" a "Kraken" instead. BRING OUT THE KRAKEN! :D

With so much hype, I hope it will not turn into a supernova!

Bah, I want to see what comes out of this

Man, I'm trying hard to get excited about "new exciting architectural details" but it somehow doesn't quite work.

If AMD know how Vega currently performs, knowing they wont squeeze much more performance, they could so easily announce pricing, so far ahead. If GTX1080ti does indeed come out in March and it looks like Vega matches it but isn't out till May, what do you do? Seed doubt by leaking the price of Vega, being far lower than GTX1080ti. That would prevent a lot of people buying green early. It's business 101 - Nvidia looks to be jumping Vega so AMD really ought to throw in a big wobbly 'make you think twice' leak.

good good good, the sooner the better so I can finally UPGRADE jeez :(

The Kraken was made by Hade's flesh, but last i remember, they still called the Kraken a Titan. The Kraken was a titan under Hade's control. Medusa was another titan, but she was cursed and transformed by Athena. I think AMD should call their strongest card the Olympian. The Anti-Titan faction is the Olympians (Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Ares,...). Another Anti-Titan faction would probably be the Primordial Gods, but that would probably consist of only Gaia and Uranus... Personally, if I had a say, I would have gone with a different marketing name and gimmic. I would have gone with calling the flagship card the "Archangel." Fury is ok, and it goes back to tradition with the ATI fury marketing scheme, but I feel old hits from the past should stay in the past. Instead, battle the old school gods (Nvidia Titan) with present day servants who serve the one, true god (AMD Archangels). Give each generation the name of an archangel. Nvidia could also elaborate each Titan card with a Titan Name for extra hype.
