Yep, I picked one up this am as well.

Got some bookshelf monitors and a spare sub I want to hookup in the basement so my wife has some good "sound" on the TV down there when she works out. This was a quick win since I had $150 NE credit laying around....

Their not bad sounding either, just sold 2 375's for $145 without remotes. real nice starter backup Home Theater amps.

I believe Yamaha have a 2 year warranty too.

Might want to get it on a UPS as i have had a few 475's were it's taken the HDMI board out, one got corrupted and the other the HDMI board just does not work, both said happened on a power cut.

In fact any AVR should be on a UPS these days.

So what doesn't it have? I'm way behind the technology curve, so I don't need the latest and greatest, but these closeout type deals are normally getting rid of outdated items. But my Polk Monitor 10's have been sitting here unused for years...

So what doesn't it have?

No 5.1 analog inputs, no preouts, and no banana plugs on the center and rears. Its a good amp but just doesnt have any bells or whistles.

It has analog inputs, and optical that go thru decoder for 5.1 It has 4K pass thru but not analog pass thru. It probably does not have 1080/ 4K up scaling. and the power supply and DAC is not the best

For $20 you can get Neweggs 3 years replacement

But i believe it don't have HDCP 2.2 which i believe can be a issue in 4k@60Hz with some devices. Don't forget that most video cards have sound too though HDMI so you would not even need to use that, which the last time i tried optical it was more hassle than it was worth and on top of that HDMI did perfectly fine for gaming.

And believe you have to get the 379 at least to get the HDCP 2.2. I believe it will do 4k might not be at 60Hz though.

Tru, you would have to go to the 475 for the banana plugs on the rear although it's not a deal breaker really anyways. As for no preout's WOW no there wont be for this price.

The Aventage lines a little better, but really you gotta spend if you want pre out's which means more spending and not really needed for most.

It's not bad at all for the price as for the power supply, i have a few 475's here each weigh in about 17LB for the total unit and that against my NAD just the transformer is 15LB totally 48Lb.

If you want the better designed ones of Yamaha again it's the Aventage line.

Optical has been obsolete for years now I was just stating that it has it.
I have the RX V571 that is 8 years old. Works fine but its build quality is not that good even though it was $325 on sale 8 years ago. My friend has a cheaper Yamaha the power supply went out on his at 6 moths. They sent him a new one
