Hello all
I recently completed a pretty decent build. I am even quite satisfied with aesthetics and the performance is OK. It is definitely the best PC I've ever built - but...
Something is missing...
At this level and at this cost it should run more quiet, and clock better for sure. 10 cores is ok but for my needs 4 would be enough.
I want to have some fun with OC and get higher clock than 4,4GHz, others CPUs can, why not mine?!?
Also it should be easier to look at. Now days we can have so much fun with lightning. Ofc my PC looks nice but its not alive, very static, even my keyboard is more pleasant to look at...
The case itself is a good case for a decent computer but it is not epic and to be honest EPIC is what i was aiming for...
And from practical point of view this build should have two separate loops.
Thats why I decided it is time for a change.
Most epic case I know is S-Frame from In Win, too bad it is limited edition and it is so hard to get one now days.
I spent alot of time going thru many different websites with all the cases, I even found S-Frame ripoff - very decent lookign case:
https://www.pc-cooling.de/gehaeuse/midi-tower/mit-window/728/jonsbo-mod1-black/green?c=309
Decent cooling options, not extremly expensive but it is not S-Frame...
On the other hand from practical point of view something from Caselabs would do the work. Closed construction, room for 2x 560 rads would be enough for every build I could ever possibly go.
MAGNUM SMA8 - is a perfect fit for me.
But wait...
Then I get this massage from my good friend Laura from In Win - "I found a case for you..."
So yes, I am getting my own In Win S-Frame!!!
Got a few 2011v3 CPUs, 6800k, 6900k, another 6950X and 5960X, and I know that the last one does 4,7 for sure
Anyway I will check all of them to get the highest clock at decent V.
We have case and CPU. For mobo I decided to check this time EVGA with their FTW-K - we will see if it will satisfy me more then ASUS.
GPU? - 1080Ti has just poped out and it should bring the performance of two 1070? We will see, and if it is not enough the mobo support even 4-way so we have options...
For SSD lets speed up also, Intel 750 NVMe will be challenged by Samsung 960 Pro
RAM also has a new successor, Dominators from Corsair will be replaced by G.Skill RGB RAMs
Finaly for the cooling I decided to go for 2 loops and eLoop fans from Noiseblocker with PWM controll for GPU and 360rad with In-Win RGB fans for CPU -99% sure- to be decided during build
The idea is new so in a few days I will make some updates to let you know what is up and what is down
As always all comments are welcome
