Every 1-2 months. I have a dust filter in front of 2 140mm fans, I remove the front cover of my case and then clean the dust filter with the vacuum. That's it, because there's not really dust in the case, thanks to the same filter. I really like this case. =)

I clean my PC every 3 months - mostly clean off dust from all the ventilators and CPU heatsink as well as dust settled on top of power supply and internal 3.5 inch & 5.25 inch devices. Everything depends upon the house in which you live - it comes from your robes, from the outside and from your own skin. Having carpets obviously gathers dust too.

My friend's girlfriend, however, does not clean her PC often enough:

Once every three years whether it needs it or not

Jester - was that a PC from your work? Don't tell me you keep that spider web storage in your house...

A well designed case (with positive pressure) doesn't need much cleaning, to be honest.
I clean from outside (including filters) with a vacuum cleaner - basically every weekend or so.

I'd have to see a definition of "completely" to answer. I've never cleaned any PC part to the state "as new". I remove the "excess" dust, I clean the fans and the CPU heatsink. The last thing usually results in -5*C (or more), so I try to do it before summer. :)

However, I regularly clean the mouse and keyboard (every few days).

I run a hugely positive pressure system so find the fan filters get clogged but inside stays pretty clean. Dont think I've cleaned it internally for a about a year and it still looks ok - you can see some fine bits of dust but not enough for me to waste time cleaning it. I take the fan filters off (no screws they just pop off) and wash them in the sink every quarter perhaps. Although I have a theory that the fan filters work better after they have a good layer of dust on them :)

I have the following pushing air in:
92mm x 3
180mm x 1
80mm x 1

and the following going out:
120mm x 1

Why such extreme tools? Any specific reason for that?
I use tools that I have and that I consider to be the most effective.
My 50-liter air compressor, which is used for various tasks, also has its purpose for undusting PC and laptop, but with regulated air pressure up to 4 bars since I destroyed laptop's fan blades a few years ago with full blast at 8 bars. Btw, air compressor is a very good dust remover and you have as much air as you want opposed to a 400 ml compressed air can. Soft paint brush is used mostly for cleaning stubborn dust on fan blades, while wet "baby" wipes and microfiber cloth are for the final touch-up.

hum, only when changing a critical component, so about every two years? Tbh, it doesn't catch a lot of dust in here.

That's what I've been recommending to people for almost 15 years.it works beautifully, not as dangerous as a compressor, and they can be used for a million other things. My favorite way to clean case vans is hold a paint brush up against the blades and use the shop vac's air pressure to cause them to spin ,you can clean a fan in two seconds that way :)

We should define "cleaning" a PC. Usually clean the filters every few months, about 2-3. Though I've cleaned the innards only once, re-did cable management and blew everything out. I think I have blew it out maybe 2-3 times previously.
The Define R4 with its filters and positive air pressure keeps the dust away really well. I looked in the PSU to check how much dust it had - nill, looked liked a brand new PSU, was really surprised as the PC is serving its 4th year already.

Clean my pc room weekly and my pcs once a month. If you vacuum regularly you don't get much dust buildup.
