TPU Ryzen BIOS Digest Issue #5

In this issue of the Ryzen BIOS update digest, we have last week's latest updates. Our BIOS update digest lets you keep track of crucial BIOS updates that improve stability of your AMD Ryzen machine. As per usual, only updated BIOSes from the last digest are listed. Changes are listed after each BIOS, sans beta BIOSes which do not always include change logs. You can find it all below.

Actually, the plan is to try to catch updates "as they happen" from here rather than weekly. So maybe sooner.

It's not the RAM AGESA update and they aren't noting any RAM speed improvements here so it's unlikely.

Waiting for an update to my gigabyte AB350 gaming motherboard. My ram is rated 3000Mhz but its running at 2133. Still Ryzen 7 is so fast I'm very happy anyway

If I may speak my opinion in the comments section, Gigabyte seemingly has been rather lame with BIOS updates.

I hope that changes soon.

ASUS loves really generic changelogs though, so I'd say give it a shot, you could be surprised.

I found an interesting "problem" with my Asus board at least. The first thing I did was to update to the latest UEFI which was 0604 at the time, I hadn't change any settings. Initially the board would only allow me to use half of the RAM, as in it only detected 8GB out of a total of 16GB and I couldn't make it work above 2133MHz. I posted about this in one of the Ryzen threads and Asus support had no idea what was going on. In the end, I got some different RAM, same problem, I was stuck at 2133MHz and only 8GB was detected.

Solution? Hard CMOS reset by jumper and it all started working. The new RAM runs at 2933MHz and my old RAM at 2666MHz. So if anyone else runs into similar problems, I just wanted to put this here as a possible fix.

Never ever come across this before, as normally when you update the BIOS/UEFI, it does a clear CMOS at the end of it all to avoid things like this.

It's running without SOC voltage at all and a 0.05 V overvolt on memory.
I call that a success.

I tested two dimms and it works all stock voltage.
Huge step for Asus!
