SoftBank Grabs 4 Billion Dollar Stake in NVIDIA, Becomes 4th Largest Shareholder

Performance also needs to be considered. My point is no one would pay their market cap for the company.
Context was somebody buying stock, so mkap is more than relevant here.

Of course it's relevant, but all factors considered, no one would pay mcap for AMD. I stand by that.

But who would pay mkap for Nvidia? Or even Apple?

Agreed. A buyer would take a look at their assets and their debt and weigh in the possibility of future profits and probably walk away from it as being too risky. AMD has sold off most of their properties and I don't think they can transfer their x86 license. I guess they could sell off Radeon Tech Group but that division seems to be struggling just to get Vega out. Nevertheless I do think they will return to profitability later on this year and that will probably give their share price a good boost.

Looking at NVIDIAs performance and the way people throw billions at them for even a small piece, I think it's safe to answer that with "anyone who wants to aquire them"
