Users running AMD's latest 17.7.2 driver package are running into issues - which, let's face it, is somewhat understandable, considering all the new features AMD has crammed into this latest driver release. All driver releases ship with a bug here or there - there is even a "Known Issues" checklist on almost all of them - so unless bugs are widespread enough, they don't ever reach the critical mass to be noted by most users. However, users in both our forums and Reddit have been reporting issues after they install their 17.7.2 driver package: namely, the absence of the ReLive tab on the Radeon Control Panel.

The issue persists even after a full DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) cleanup, and appears to be inconsistent in that users with the same hardware and on the same OS have mixed results upon installation. This issue has been confirmed by the Director of AMD's Corporate Strategy, Terry Makedon, on Reddit, who said that "Windows 7 being identified as beta and missing DVR is now reproduced in here and we will issue an update later today to address that. Sorry for that, hopefully we fixed it fast enough." For now, and until AMD releases a fix, there seems to be a workaround, as our own VSG has reported on an update to our Crimson ReLive 17.7.2 Preview: "One potential fix reported is to disable all security components (Antivirus, Malware protection etc) and to use the AMD Web Installer instead (Windows 10 64-bit here, replace 10 with 7 and 64 with 32 in the URL for other options)."

Installed fine on my experience. Didn't encounter any of the said issues.

Yeah, well, at least AMD users don't have absurd video glitches in Opera browser with Fast/Adaptive V-Sync that is there for several versions of ForceWare and with apparently no fix anywhere in sight. It's so absurd I'm looking into switching to RX Vega just because of that. So, if you think missing tab that's acknowledged already is the worst problem, think again...

DDU has caused worse issues for me than a driver ever has.

Another issue that was not mentioned above, but was caused by my own tinkering. Under Display, there is a drop down list of color depth. Depending on your monitor, you may be at 8 bpp or 10 bpp. Since my monitor is by default set to 10 bit color (BenQ GW2765HT), I decided in my infinite wisdom to set it to 12 bpp. I promptly lost the image, and the driver seems to not include a timeout asking whether you wish to keep the change. Hitting ESC did not revert the change and required resetting the system 4 times to enter system repair to get to Safe mode where I was able to run DDU to clear the driver and start fresh.

Everything so far seems to be fine here after that mishap on Windows 10 Pro x64.

Workaround = Jump here, now thru this hoop over there....

still having an older card, I am in no rush to update drivers constantly.

I just disable hardware acceleration in my apps and browser, no problems here, also never noticed a problem within my browsers with hardware acceleration enabled though....
If everyone had this issue you are having I think Nvidia would already have investigated this and probably fixed it by now?

Yeah well, I didn't have it like 3 months ago and then all of a sudden it appeared. Being NVIDIA + Opera + Fast/Adaptive V-Sync it's a very specific thing. How many people use Fast or Adaptive V-Sync anyway? Most doesn't even have clue what this even is. And also Opera? The only solution people always say is "use profiles and set Fast V-Sync only for games. I don't have the nerves to set it for every damn game when it worked perfectly before being globally enabled. I don't remember NVIDIA or AMD cocking up something this badly and not fixing it for months.

Yup, do not use hardware acceleration in browser. As for Rezjor's issues, I'm sure he'll be very happy with Vega. People need to put their money where their mouth is more often and just stop complaining. I did with Ryzen and I only sort of feel robbed by a mildly uncooperative system. But it's fun to experiment.

Actually, thats a lie - my system is 100% stable, just not on the DOCP settings (not stable).

Yeah well at least Nvidia Maxwell users GETs new features such as Fast sync. Meanwhile RTG has completely abandoned their flag ship FuryX of the same year.

You know @RejZoR , please make sure to get a VEGA xtx. I would so love to see you support RTG with your wallet, not just your mouth. You know, like me, i bought their FuryX!

Why on earth would I disable hardware acceleration in browser? We moved from Windows95 from the same year to current era for a reason. Disabling HW acceleration is returning to 1995... No thanks.

Why on earth would I disable hardware acceleration in browser? .

Because a browser can run on the dirt under my finger nail and my lovely shiny gfx card can just look pretty.

Well, that was fast. At least they acknowledged it and have been working on it. Thanks to our awesome community in the mean time :P

That's literally like buying a V12 car and then willfully decide to run it on 4 cylinders only at all times...

I just wish we could set our own fan profiles instead of just a static fan speed or automatic....I find myself just throwing my fans up to 80-100% on games that are heavy on my system. But for lighter games like counter-strike and Diablo 3, I use the automatic mode to quiet it down. But it doesn't quite cool enough if that makes sense..

IF WE CAN SET DYNAMIC CLOCK SPEEDS FOR CORE AND MEMORY, WHY CAN'T WE DO IT WITH THE FANS ON THE CARD??

You could just adjust the Fan Min and Target along with the Start. Don't have to be static or automatic-default. You can adjust to your game and how demanding it is game or application.

Crimson ReLive's is the shittiest installer I have encountered in my life.

Yes same, i don't have relive but i don't use it anyway but Chill and Enhanced Sync are not there and i have done a DDU uninstall before installing it.

I see you have 7950, forget it. RTG ditched all GPU except Polaris for new features.

Also @RejZoR , can you give a confirmation that you WILL buy VEGA?

I didn't think installing drivers was an issue, but then I haven't used AMD for a while.

The drama their new releases generate is... epic, sorry... epyc.

Same here. Didn't have any problems installing 17.7.2 and ReLive tab is there for me.

It's not working for me in Wattman if I want to overclock plus under volt or even just with a under volt. Switching back to 17.7.1 beta driver however works while either overclocked or under oem voltage.

Just disable V-SYNC for Window Mode and you're set. Had the same issues in Chrome on crappy Java/Flash based apps and web pages.

At the end of install, my PC was BSODing after installation. This happened only on clean installs.

ALso i saw it installing .NET x32 instead of x64 for some reason.
