Intel Readies Higher Z390 Chipset for 2018 Launch

Do you know how long it takes to implement something like in hardware? Obviously Intel and the PCI SIG members have had the standard much longer, but even so, this is not going to be in the 300-series of chipsets, nor next years CPUs from Intel.

For example, from your link, it took almost two years for Intel to launch a CPU with PCIe 3.0 support.

PCIe 4.0 is hardly needed for consumer applications today, so why would Intel rush to release support for PCIe 4.0?
I never said they're rushing to anything. I simply pointed out PCIe 4.0 is already ratified, that's all.

Just curious whats going to be better about it more than anything.

Native USB 3.1 Gen2, new Thunderbolt chip, and maybe SATA 3.3 (supports Shingled Magnetic Recording [SMR] for 25% capacity increase per platter).

I understand the features of the Z390. But then, what is the difference between Z370 and Z270 ?? Or Z370 is just a shitty re-brand with faked limitations imposed on the Z270??

What he said, It is the same Chipset since Z170.

But I am looking forward to INTEL utilizing better Direction Media Interface. DMI 3.0 has become thing of a past.

Then why anyone would buy a Z370 instead of the newer Z390? Makes absolutely no sense, sorry...
