Like it would help. Just look at US: probably the most severe punishments for DUI in the world, and it's still #3 for DUI offences right after SAR and Canada.
Even drunken russians, finns, the entire eastern and central Europe combined can't beat that.

It's not severe to me. I want public executions... hangings from traffic lights or something. :D

These will be addressed by local governments. Besides, AI driven cars are safer than humans so you may find insurance cheaper. Though I doubt it.

I also imagine a rule where you are not allowed to sleep alone in an autonomous car.
Because local governments are so well known for proper decision making (see flint michigan).

Look at towing rules. They vary state to state, and make interstate towing a royal PITA.

Also, what about when there are two options, hitting fewer or more people? what about when the option with the fewest deaths is to kill the driver? these questions need answered. And we need a set federal standard, lest ther ebe decades and billions of dollars lost to rediculous local laws.

Also, not allowed to sleep in an autonomous car? What is the point? If you are not driving, falling asleep is really easy. What is the point of a car driving itself fully if I have to watch the road at all times? I might as well buy a cheaper non self driving car at that rate.

I wish they'd do that for people that ride you're ass for going the speed limit. They might wanna do something about all the idiot's with cell phones stuck in their ears too it's not exactly safe either. God forbid they maintain the roads to be safer as well screw it can last 1 more winter of frost heaves and pot holes and the road shoulder half fallen off already.

My favorite local government job is the assholes that direct traffic plural because you know they always seem to have a solid 2-3 extra they don't at all need just shooting the **** with each other off to the side.

Well isn't that the truth. What's the point in a self driving car if it goes to sleep on you while driving? It's got one job and that's to replace human's reportedly flawed and inept driving if they can't do that reliably they are no less tainted.

This makes sense... as AMD always launch products without... drivers.

well they had issues while using Nvidia solution, kinda logical for them to seek alternatives ...
plus it's their own chips (AMD only helps) so now, they will only be able to blame themselves if something goes wrong (what would go wrong? right? )
I doubt that AMD only helps. Majority of tech in that chip will be of AMD. Tesla most probably asked for some changes to AMD's Ryzen+Vega apu ( AI specific semi custom chip) and may be added some of their own tech, hence the term semi-custom.
Is their any article showing Tesla is having issues with Nvidia's solution?
