Medieval RPG "Kingdom Come: Deliverance" is on course to becoming 2018's first gaming blockbuster. The game sold over a million copies in its first week since launch, with the PC platform amounting to 45 percent of the sales, through Steam. The sales data was compiled by SteamSpy, accounting the first week of sales since the game's February 13 release across Windows (PC), Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 platforms. Czech developer Warhorse Studios debuted with the game, which is published by Deep Silver.

In related news, the game already received its first major patch, version 1.2.5, which fixes controller issues on the console platforms, such as an unresponsive R2 button; bugs in quests with Hans Capon; and bugs in the "Ginger in a Pickle" quest. "We're about one million when I count all the platforms and distribution channels. We certainly thought about one million. The number is surprisingly positive, but it's not something we thought we could not achieve," said Martin Frývaldský, CEO of Warhorse Studios.

It is very sad that czech game from czech team, which take place at where Czech rep. is standing doesn't have czech dubbing.

One of my best gaming experiences was playing Mafia 1 in czech lang, Witcher in polish, Metro in russian.

Witcher 3 has better dialogues in English than in Polish. Played 400 hrs of it, I'm Polish, and I know what I'm saying. It's as if smeone wrote it for English customers primarily and the Polish version is a translation of it, which is a shame for obvious reasons.

Agreed, to me its not even about the dialogue being from the devs language, I just want more different settings and languages in general then always English.

Look at it this way, if they can make a good buck on this first release, surely there is extra money in a next one to get proper native dubbing in there. Doing it right off the bat is not only a huge risk and time investment, but also just aimed at a very small target audience. Economically it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense...

There are more effective ways to put some national pride in there; such as small easter egg-like content; a Town Crier having some lines, for example.

It is an awfully impressive game from a smaller studio. Kudos to the devs. The npc AI does some strange things sometimes (especially confused guards), but even then the way it plays out can be pretty funny.

If your basis for a "blockbuster" title is sales alone... Monster Hunter World sold 5 million in the first three days of release. 6 million within its first week.

The nuance here is that it is happening despite all the bitching about "lack of diversity ".

as i understood it, it's people that worked on arma, so it's not out of nowhere like pubg was (maybe i should check to confirm who pubg devs are before saying that)

Personally, the only bitching is coming from SJW who want to apply today’s population sprinkling across the world to a small slice of southeastern Europe in the 13th century. At best there may have been the odd trader or mercenary from Africa, the Middle East, or the Far East, maybe some leftover Mongols, and that’s it.

They would have been exceedingly rare and a wonder to behold for all the locals.
This want the modern world. Populations were exceedingly static. Even the Ottomans hadn’t reached that region yet. I just have to shake my head that there is a controversy in the first place.
