ID-Cooling introduced one of the smallest tower-type CPU coolers in recent times, with the SE-812i. This cooler is targeted at those who want a cheap quick-fix to the lack of a stock cooling solution with certain retail CPUs, but don't want to content with top-flow options. Its design is straightforward - two 6 mm-thick copper heat pipes make direct contact with the CPU at the base, passing through a compact aluminium fin-stack, which is ventilated by an 80 mm fan.

The cooler can handle TDP of up to 95W, so you can pair it with chips such as the i7-8700K, just don't expect any overclocking headroom. The cooler only supports Intel LGA115x sockets for now, although an AM4-specific SE-812a could be in the works. The included 80 mm fan spins up to 2,200 RPM, pushing up to 28.7 CFM of air, with a noise-level of up to 23.3 dBA. Measuring 85 mm x 85 mm x 120 mm (WxDxH), the cooler weighs about 230 g.

Not really understanding the allure of this unless it's so much cheaper than the AC freezer...

Been forever since new 80mm coolers were made it seems.

Well it's 10mm lower than AC Freezer 13 (120mm vs 130mm) so if clearance is REALLY tight it may help.

Always good to have more choice though.

could be an affordable option for my MSI Nightblade Z97 itx system if I need to replace the cooler it has now.
