ASUS today introduced the Prime J4005I-C mini-ITX motherboard based on Intel "Gemini Lake" Celeron J4005 SoC. Built in the mini ITX form-factor, this board is targeted at low-power business desktops, such as POS kiosks. The board draws power from a combination of 24-pin ATX and 4-pin ATX power connectors. There are no PCIe add-on card slots; however, there's quite a bit of PCIe-based connectivity. The SoC is passively-cooled by an aluminium heatsink. It's wired to two DDR4 DIMM slots, which support up to 8 GB of dual-channel DDR4-2400 memory.
Storage connectivity on the Prime J4005I-C include two SATA 6 Gbps ports, and an M.2 (M-key) slot with PCIe gen 2.0 x2 wiring. A second M.2 (E-key) slot has gen 2.0 x2 wiring, for WLAN/Bluetooth cards. USB connectivity includes four USB 3.0 ports (two on the rear panel, two by headers). Legacy connectivity includes one LPT header and two COM ports (one RS232 in the rear panel, and another 9-pin header); display outputs include LVDS (ideal for kiosk displays and AIO desktops), D-Sub, and HDMI. Gigabit Ethernet and 6-channel audio make for the rest of it.
