State of Decay 2, the sequel to the multi-million selling State of Decay game, will be making its way to the PC and Xbox One on May 22. The Standard Edition will carry a $29.99 price tag and the Ultimate Edition will set you back $49.99. Consumers who purchase the Ultimate Edition will get receive four days of early access beginning May 18 and the "Independence Pack" and "Daybreak Pack" DLCs. Microsoft will also be rewarding consumers who pre-order State of Decay 2 between now and May 21 with some exclusive in-game goodies. State of Decay 2 is a Xbox Play Anywhere title, therefore, consumers will receive both the Xbox One and Windows 10 versions of the game upon purchase. They can access their game saves, achievements, and progression no matter which platform they game on.

in the first place, State of Decay 2 will only work on a Windows 10 64-bit operating system. The game occupies a mere 16 GB of hard drive space. The minimum system requirements include an Intel Core i5-2500 or AMD FX-6300 processor, 8 GB of RAM, and a GeForce GTX 760 or Radeon HD 7870 graphics card. For the more demanding gamers who enjoy maxing out all the eye-candy, Microsoft recommends an Intel Core i5-4570 or AMD FX-8350 processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a GeForce GTX 960 or Radeon R9 380 graphics card.

I heard the first game was an absolute mess and probably abandonware.

I enjoyed the 1st game. Nice open world and forests.

When the zombies grabbed you they literally tore you apart.

I liked the first game - though it felt a bit lacking without co-op support.

I've been looking forward for this game since I heard it was going to have co-op......Sadly, I'll pass on this game since it's only supported by Windows 10 and I haven't wasted my money on a console since the PS2 days. I've had enough headaches with what Windows 10 updates have done to my HTPC that I don't care to put it on my gaming computer.

Yeah the no MP or Coop was a slap to the face... i was following the development of for a couple years before it was released, then it was no thank you, no mp for you! I believe they also promised being able to choose how you character looked, but it was also scrapped for the community based gameplay.

Ill probably pick the second game when it hits Steam at around 10 Buck.

You were misled. They supported it for years, and then even released an updated Day One version 2 years later, so not abandoned. Also, it was popular (very positive reviews and well over 1 million sales), and is very moddable.

The only “downside” was that it was only SP. I don’t consider that a downside though, since they invested in a fairly lengthy story.

Not me, looks like a bore-fest. "Weee, more zombie games!"
You keep on telling yourself that, though, if it makes you feel good about your own country.

16GB space requirement isn't very promising in terms of detailed open-world experience. I hope it's not just a small upgrade from the first game.

Remember, they created it for the Xbox and ported it over. Hopefully they did well with the port and actually allow decent graphical setting options. MS needs the game to run well on the Xbox first and foremost. In the pictures in the OP, all that motion blur in the third picture hurts my eyes and the fourth one reminds me of PUBG.

Also, all the zombies look very glossy in those pictures - maybe you won't notice it if you're actually playing the game?
