Crap. It's nearly $400 in my area... Bought my 4k samsung for that same amount of money...

I recall you mentioning an ultrawide... I was on the fence and got a 34" ...I f*king love it. Best upgrade since my SSD And that was moving from a 24" Dell 1920x1200 moinitor.

I use this at work (spreadsheets, etc.) and it's perfectly fine for that. Beats using two monitors.

Its a 6-bit + A-FCR = 8-bit with 99% color space. Its a good price for the monitor with FreeSync 40-75hz

Some companies charge a lot for panels that cant even go above 72% coverage which budget panels are doing. Even sell those panels for a premium in their "gaming series" line up.

oh well i already got my 299chf monitor (close to the price of that one, outside promotion) ....32" instad of 29" 1440p instead or 1080p Uwide IPS 8ms GTG instead of 5... wait actually also 5ms GTG with overdrive, a slightly better contrast ratio although only 200 above (dynamic is 5'000'000:1) but only 60hz and no "gimmicksync" (tho i reckon Freesync is preferable to G-Sync )

errrrrrrrr... by personal experience that's way more than enough for gaming ... i played on a 1ms TN i take the 5ms IPS instead any day (my 32" 1080p TV on the other hand .... was horrible with her ~14ms)

That's typical for IPS. I have a similar spec panel and it's like butter with FreeSync, never felt so immersed in a game with wide-open dynamic scenery. The GTX 1070 Ti does a decent job, but nothing like the Vega 64 /FS I had before that. I'm sold.

I'm telling ya, firsthand experience with it was WOW. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't first used Freesync with a Vega 64 then without on a GTX 1070 Ti, same monitor. If/when Vega prices drop, I'm ditching the GTX*

*I even have the GTX Oc'd so it'll beat the Vega 64 in all 3Dmark tests. I've tried all of the vsync options on the GTX and the only one that's decent is OFF.

well freesync is kinda wasted tho ... but that's not an issue, since it require no overprice unlike the other one

a 1070Ti doing a decent job at 2560x1080 .... IT BETTER DOES! my 1070 (non Ti ... mind you, i don't have 830$ regional pricing flaw ) has strictly no issues with 1440p

1ms? where .... that panel is a 5ms GTG the rest is marketing BS (the 1ms MBR), what i've stated is that my 8ms(5ms effective) IPS is not that much slower than my previous 1ms TN actually between 1ms and 5ms i doubt you would notice something ... on the other hand, as i've wrote, between ~14ms and 1-5ms it's day and night
actually it's fine for any type of gaming (i'm an eclectic gamer ... ) no games i play gave me any reason to be disappointed and i thought like you .... since i came from a 1ms TN previously .... but i noticed nothing at all

my Erazer X58222 is also marketed as "gaming" .... tho for the price ... i considere the other that put "gaming" monitor around 600$ and above for "G-Sync" or 120hz+ refresh rate uninteresting.
1200:1 contrast ratio, 60hz, 5ms might be downside (although i do not see them as that since my monitor is "only" 299chf ) tho it's still a 32" 1440p IPS panel, also the build quality is ... astonishing, cast aluminum feet, metal bezel and back and not much plastic compared to something with a higher price tag

the one mentioned by the OP is quite nice as a "budget-gaming" screen, tho i considere 21/9 screen to be more for video editing, 3d modeling, office work and such task, the cheapest 21/9 1080p monitor i can find is 336chf atm but 60hz and "office" range of application

short-mode: for the price .... no right to complain even at the non-promo price, since they don't even use theses "gaming claim" for pushing the price above acceptable level.

Without ever gaming on a TN high Hz panel, I can't say for sure if I'd be blown away or not. I can say, the IPS panel I have is absolutely gorgeous for colors and it's smoother than I ever imagined at 75hz with Free Sync. May I shouldn't try a TN panel

muh... 144hz TN 1ms at the double price of a 60hz (75hz oc'able but not needed) IPS 8ms (5ms overdrive) would not be worth it for me ... granted my previous was not 144hz but 60hz tho i tested a 144hz ... no point in high refresh rate if the GPU can't push the frames needed and 60-80fps is the average for a 1070 specially at 2560x1440 resolution ... unless i had a 1080/1080Ti, for you with a 1070Ti at 1080p Uwide .... mmmhhh i'd say 120hz would be the sweetspot but 75hz is mostly fine (a 1070 doing 100fps and above at 1440p? you see that only in review )

75hz is fast, 60hz is fast, 24-30hz is slow, 120hz is excessively fast, 144hz is .... overprice argument

and he talked about the 4ms difference in GTG not specifically the refresh rate yep 4 millisecondes more is what make that screen sluggish

and it's smoother than I ever imagined at 75hz with Free Sync.

except you aren't using Freesync at all ... Nvidia don't want their GPU's to have anything to do with it .... (albeit the fact that they could work with it ... unlike the reverse situation with G-Sync)
at last ... it's smooth at 75hz no need to have a higher RR unless esport athlete playing a high paced high fps game and they need 144hz to be efficient (oh well they don't care about hardware ... they only care about sponsor and sponsor get them the most expensive and top of the line gears ahah )
