Latest leak confirms that Intel is preparing new Xeon processors targeted at the entry level market. These Xeon chips, which are based on Coffee Lake-S, have been rebranded from Xeon E3 to Xeon E. The Xeon E-2000 family consists of ten models featuring up to six cores. They differ from their consumer Coffee Lake counterparts in terms of features, memory support, operating frequencies, and TDP ratings. Seven of the ten processors come with iGPUs as denoted by the G suffix in the model number. The new Xeon E-2000 processors will be manufactured in Intel's Vietnam facility. The first batches of these processors are expected to ship sometime around June 25, 2018.

I wouldn't mind a coffe lake -x gamer chip, soldered 8 core 16 thread, no igp, but i think skylake-x just recently came out so that prob wont happen anytime soon sadly, and im not paying for skylake-x when its slower in IPC than coffee lake

Skylake-X's replacement Cascade Lake-X is imminent.
And no, Skylake-X don't have lower IPC than Coffee Lake, it has the highest IPC we've ever seen in any x86-implementation. Also, there are no changes in IPC between Skylake, Kaby Lake and Coffee Lake. The next IPC improvement will be in Ice Lake and Ice Lake-X, the first of which was "scheduled" for this fall, but there is a huge chance it wouldn't be shipping in volumes anytime soon.

The mesh decreases IPC in lower core count CPUs in certain apps (gaming being one b/c of intercore). Ringbus is faster for like 8 core or less.

Ice lake won't exist until 2020 unless they admit 10nm is a failure and give up on it.

No, it doesn't. Then you need to learn what Instructions Per Clock is.

I think the words you are looking for are "gaming performance"

Not that it makes any difference to the end result for a gamer...
