NVIDIA "GT104" Based GeForce GTX 1180 Surfaces on Vietnamese Stores

How times change. I remember how the great the power usage was considered to be really good in the reviews for power efficiency and framereate performance at release and now it's considered a power hog. Heck, my 780 Ti with just 3GB RAM and previous gen GPU was a powerhouse!

I've also got a 1080 (see specs) and it blows both of these cards away in every way, as you'd expect.
The difference I saw between 980Ti and 1080 was just amazing to me in a practical sense. Not only did I see noticeably better performance out of the box, but I could OC the card and still keep the fan speed at 50%. 980Ti (MSI Gaming 6G with twinfrozr 5) had it set 65-70% out of the box in auto mode. 1080 sits at 38-40% on auto.

I think you need to step off the internet for a while RejZor, enjoy the World Cup watching Brazil get closer to a 6th title & if you dislike Germany it's like Christmas coming early.

I still bet the French talents are gonna explode with form in the semis and the final.

I can't believe how much nicer this thread is without the screeching of the guy.

Had 980Ti, no more such power hogs in my rig.
Had R9 290, didn't give a crap about power consumption, and I still don't. The reference cooler was the only truly bad thing about it.

Why a crappy photoshopping like this made it even to TPU news? o_O

It's a weird naming scheme if it's real. Why would a major new version had minor number change lol. Makes no sense. GTX 2080 would make a lot of sense coming from GTX 1080, but GTX 1080 going to GTX 1180 seems like a GTX 1080 refresh in terms of "just another card from old series".

The model name is actually two numbers the relative generation i.e. 10 and the second number is where it falls in the line up for that particular generation e.g. 80 lets you know the that card is better than the one ending with a 70. Point it is done because it is logical, not because it sounds nice, and most people can count.

He's not doing it on purpose. But he doesn't realize when he's acting like a baby and reacts even worse when you point it out.

When I was a wee lad, I did a pretty wicket job, with MSpaint, on the original Athlon. I added two more cache chips and sent that puppy to some guys inbox at amdzone.com. Had a buncha people believing that there was a 1MB Athlon on the way, lol. I still feel horrible about it, but kids will be kids.

why are people still discussing this. ROFL. This is photo shop to the moon! This really should be taken down. I can't believe this is on front page. LOL! Plus I highly doubt after market cards are already designed for the next nvidia series. Nvidia is going to bank on founders edition for a month. You can bet that.

No it doesn't. New actual models always jump major numbers. Which is GTX 1xxx and GTX 2xxx. With this logic, it should be called GTX 1090 and still make sense somehow as brand new GPU... Which is why I'm questioning this numbering decision if real.

well I had 570, 670, 780, 980Ti , 1080 Ti w/ the only oddity being the skipped 8xx series... so after jumping by just one 4 outta 5 times, a jump of 10 would seem very odd

I've seen 6-7GB in many games, Deus Ex MD even had my 1080 run out of vram when msaa 2x was enabled.

Nah. Those game engines just cash the VRAM to reduce the loads, not necessarily use it all at once. This was proven even on some articles here on TPU.

No one going to comment on the second picture not being a 1180 but a 1180 Ti?

Too funny and too much Photochop on both the pictures. Even the specs are pulled from one's butt I think...

Yes, the review conclusion was that the games(Final Fantasy XV and Tomb Raider) used the more V.R.A.M. in case they are needed but mostly just sitting there doing nothing, it's a good thing, though.

If they are going to edit images this badly why stopping at GTX 1180 Ti? GTX 1180 PowerMax TITANium for example.

i mis the days of 3dfx the longer your grapics card is the powerfuller it is

Why not bringing back the Vodoo brand back? Nvidia Vodoo GTX 6 Titanium. The sky is the limit!

Why is the image on the description the same as the "unofficial artists render" that has floated around since whenever we started getting leaks/news of an 1180?:kookoo:

I call "bovine excrement"

Exactly, wouldn't the 1180, 1170 and 1160 be released first? The 1180Ti or indeed any Ti card would be down the list of cards to release so a picture of a reference card at this point in time just doesn't make sense.

1080Ti die area 471 mm2, so 1180Ti 676 mm2 would be bigger and down the list just as it should be. oh well different uArc, but not so much since 12nm is just 16nm and slightly shrinked gates, and 1180 is just a clone of 1080 Ti 384 bit/11Ghz replaced by 256bit/14Ghz.

If you look at the top of the box you still can read 1080 through the glare

Imean tbh there have been several "leaks" that were posted as news here which were entirely fake or were just bed rehashes of already known info...

I hate to be saying it, but I'm afraid the quality IS going down... someone really needs to cross check and filter out these bullshit "leaks" and a lot of the really rubbish press releases.

"$1500 is not really relevant"....lol okay
