An e-mail correspondence between an NVIDIA AIC (add-in card) partner and a retailer was leaked to the web by Gamer Meld. It confirms launch dates of at least four GeForce 11-series client-segment graphics card SKUs. These include the GeForce GTX 1180, the GeForce GTX 1170, a curiously named GeForce GTX 1180+, and the mid-range GeForce GTX 1160. The dates mentioned in the e-mail could be availability dates, if not launch dates. This could mean product launches and reviews earlier than these dates.

Mark your calendars for 30th August, 2018. This is when NVIDIA will debut to market its first GeForce 11-series graphics card, the GTX 1180. This card is the spiritual successor to the GTX 1080, and will initially be launched as an enthusiast product, but will settle down as an upper-performance-segment SKU. Exactly a month after, on 30th September, NVIDIA will launch two SKUs - the GTX 1170, and the GTX 1180+. The GTX 1170 is slightly cut-down from the GTX 1180, and succeeds the GTX 1070. The GTX 1180+, on the other hand, is a brand new "premium" brand extension. It's not a GTX 1080 Ti successor, since it's probably based on the same silicon as the GTX 1180, but will probably ship with higher clock speeds, or a premium reference design. AMD gave its RX Vega 64 a similar treatment with its RX Vega 64 Liquid Edition. A month after that, as the mercury begins to drop, on 30th October, NVIDIA will launch the mid-range GTX 1160 to rake in Holiday sales.

The Gamer Meld video follows.

Yeah, I don't believe this for a second. The dates might be approximately correct, who knows its just guesswork.

The email is so sloppy written and contains information you would not just give away that easy. Just a clickbaity youtuber.

There are absolutely 0 evidence this is correct. So IMO this is still all just rumors.
That said, these look just about what I would expect. Unfortunately for very obvious reasons reviewers will only get the cards a few days (3-5~) before release so who knows anyway...

The pricing is going to be interesting.....

Fake news... Gamer Meld's videos are all click baits...

I am 100% sure they will lauch this year :)

It would be painful if they didn't.
With rumors appearing everyday gamers won't spend a significant amount on 10xx anymore, Nvidia is dragging its own sale if they deliberately delay the launch.

Breaking hardware news, now based on random youtube videos…

Like most of these articles, this looks like just pure speculation.

I dont think all of the dates are even possible doesnt one land on a sunday?

Either way 80 and 70 are normally a week apart afaik

If the dates are based on actual information, they are probably the end of NDAs, indicating the end of the possible release window. The embargo will be lifted once the cards launches anyway.

GTX 1080/1070 were launched a week apart, GTX 980/970 and GTX 780/770 were launched on the same day.

I would be careful to read too much into the sort of stuff "the x model is usually …". Nvidia have changed something in the lineup in every iteration, so we can't just assume that GTX 11xx will be the same as GTX 10xx +30% across the board, etc. I don't know if we have confirmation of the model names launching first. I see many assume Nvidia will carve out 1180 and 1170 of the "GV104" and 1180 Ti of "GV102".

One thing you probably do know is that drivers usually only display device ids for unreleased products, so when someone publishes a benchmark displaying the name of the card ahead of launch, we can pretty safely dismiss it as a fake.

Oh no, are they going to insert into model ladder again?

1080 -> 1180+
1070 -> 1180
1060 -> 1170

Previous instance:
580 -> Titan
570 -> 680
560 -> 670

Then the new "11-series 1080" called a 1180+ sets a new price point, if that's what's happening here. Or maybe 1180+ just refers to custom non-FE models.

1185

Worth the upgrade or is it gone to be a $1200 dollar GPU?

Knowing how GREEDY and CALLOUS nVidia is, expect those cards to arrive at a new Premium price.

It's not really greed, it's called business. They have investors and shareholders who all want a return, they aren't a registered charity after all.

Naturally the price may indeed be high, but that is also because the competition is shit.

I'm assuming 1180 = Founders, and 1180+ = all other 1180 variants

The dates are all confused 1180 launch date is August 2019 or 2020.

You can call it business, just note that it comes with a price if you deliberately leave room for your competitors. Look at Intel.
