SIS To Launch New Intel and AMD Chipsets

Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) is planning to launch a new Intel and AMD Based Chipset line in Q1 2008.
SiS intends to release the SiS 757 chipset targeted at the PC-Enthusiast and the SiS 772 IGP chipset for the mainstream user. The SiS 969 southbridge is also scheduled to be released in the first quarter of 2008.

SiS 757 and 772 will support Socket AM2+/AM3 processors, AMD's Cool 'n' Quiet technology and HyperTransport 3.0.
The SiS 772 IGP chipset has the Mirage 4 graphics engine integrated which supports DirectX 10, Shader Model 4.0 and SiS Real Video technology.
Finally the IGP chipset will also have HDMI and HDCP support. Both chipsets is believed that will be paired with the new SiS 969 southbridge which supports up to 10 built-in USB 2.0 ports, 2 ATA 133 ports, 4 SATA 3 Gbps ports with NCQ and 4 PCI Express lanes along with Onboard HD-Audio.

Looks pretty neat. I just have never had a good performing SiS chipset.

It's good to see SIS back in the game! They make notebook chipsets, which I've had pretty good experiences with. Ya don't hear too many good things about their desktop line tho.

Your mom has a new silicone chipset.

Since SIS are the bottom of the barrel chipset maker they really should try a push the boat out and create a dual format (Intel+Amd) cpu Mainboard because besides cheapness SIS don't really have all the much going for them these days.

Oh no.. its SiS..
