Apple Event on October 30th: New iPad Pro, MacBook Air and Mac Mini Could Be Announced

Once again people seem to forget the cost of apple products is from the incredibly high build quality and the ecosystem. Anyway, interesting time to release some sales news. I assume for the holidays... I would love a new macbook 13... maybe @W1zzard could get them for the mods this year? :pimp:

Find that odd after having 3 ipads, they all failed with the same issue, sure fixable but am you think they would fix the ribbon's in better.

And for the price and actual support should be much better than it actually is.

Don't get me wrong i like the ipad performance wish but dam expensive same old issue and DAM things glued together.

I think MS' build quality and ecosystem is just as good. They don't charge an arm and a leg for their Surfaces (not that I want one. Just saying. And I still like OS X more).

Isn't that the one that's made with carpet ?, lmao. Just more shady shit.

The Surface? I haven't had one since the Surface Pro, but it seems just like a computer to me. Didn't notice any carpet. lol

5 second search.

the one design element that's not conservative at all is the Alcantara fabric that surrounds the keys and covers the palm rests. In fact, every person who has seen this laptop asks about it first. Most think it feels nice but is still a little weird. Most also think it's a bad idea because it will wear down after months and years of use. Or that it will get easily stained. Or, at minimum, it'll get grimy and nasty.

So yeah, about that: I am no expert on this stuff, and I certainly haven't had this laptop long enough to render final judgment. And Microsoft definitely didn't do itself any favors when it said users should treat it like a luxury product. Nor is it reassuring when the company says that Alcantara "ages beautifully, growing richer and darker over time, and is wonderfully soft to touch."

Well tbh i don't like most what gets released these days, it's either bad cooling, clip together crap, glued or some other cheap shit. Last laptops i have liked are the old Thinkpads.

You have had 3 ipads fail on you? Either you have incredibly bad luck or you are doing something awful to them.

Or you're just very unlucky like my younger brother. When the iPad 2 released he thought he was really cool for picking one up when they released. He dropped $600 on it.
Day two of owning it, he was carrying it in his hands when he turned too soon after walking through a doorway and he bumped his hand on the door frame which caused him to drop his iPad. The iPad feel roughly 24 inches to a carpeted floor. The iPad hit the floor, corner first, and even though it was carpeted the entire screen spider-webbed.

He told me that he didn't pay extra for the Apple Care and he was SOL for getting the screen fixed without having to pay for it himself. An extra almost $300 to get the screen fixed.....he spent almost a grand (after taxes and screen replacement) on an Apple product. I still laugh at him about it to this day and it's been 6-7 years since it happened.

One of them was due to back light the other's due to a simple dodgy cable issue which requires removal. The ipad mini wasn't ours ( school ) so don't know the real issue but the other 2 which one of them we still have is very typical of the cable issue that comes lose inside.

Which will be never fixed as though trying to teach the youngest value for money it has never been worth her time to save up for the repair kit.
