EVGA has already started teasing their Z390 Dark motherboard back in December, showing off its overclocking capabilities. It's not a coincidence that it set the CPU benchmark - the motherboard is built to be EVGA's top-of-the-line offering, with a 17 phase VRM planted on a 10-layer PCB, an EVGA-embedded wireless solution, 3x reinforced PCIe x16 slots, 150% reinforced socket gold content... it's all in for this one.

There are a multitude of connectors on this motherboard, and it has everything you'd expect a high-end motherboard to pack in an E_ATX form-factor, including 3x M.2 key slots (2x 110 mm and 1x 32 mm), an integrated Creative Sound Core3D Quad-Core Audio Processor, 8x SATA 6 Gbps ports, a multitude of USB ports... And it even smiles for the camera.

Love this thing! the power connectors are so nicely placed! the layout is great! man I would love to upgrade from my Z370 Classy board but hard to justify.

What an unusual design !

I wonder what's the benefit of rotating the CPU 90 degrees to the left ?

The memory slot are above the CPU socket, so I'm guessing the socket was moved because of this :) Maybe shorter paths to the memory slots, maybe a little bit faster but not sure why it would have needed to be moved 90 degrees but still.. :)

Maybe because the power connectors were moved back? Looks like there isn't enough space for the slots but idk.

That and the VRM's on or whatever is on the left hand side of the board is also taking up most of the board lol I think that looks a little like a E-ATX size motherboard as well...??

I am pretty sure they moved everything because of the VRM paths. the amount of VRMs is crazy insane and in order or space everything correctly the moved things accordingly. I really like the layout

it for sure is E-ATX

They do look like they have gone overboard again with the cooling and amount of them, but that can only been a good thing I suppose.. Some of these newer CPU's don't have take the power... I must admit, I completely skimmed over the E ATX bit... lol

I think it's a shame there's only two memory slots but with all this double stacked ram and such coming out, it's not the end of the world, same as my Z170M board, that's only two slots :) I wonder how the two compare..... :)

so when will it be available to buy again? and how much? there is still little to no information about this board & availability and, evga has been dragging it out for a couple of months now with this product...

I'm gonna buy one, run everything stock, not even gonna turn on XMP. :pimp:

It is perceptible that the design is adapted for accessibility in the lying position for the OC use ! Easier to use ! And less RAM beds gives less chance of short-circuiting in hard core hydrogen and nitrogen cooling .
It's true that auglmas can not be bought .:slap:

It's on sale now.

I love this board but I'll never be in the market for an E-ATX.

Would be great if they shrunk this down to mATX like they did for the x299.

Has everything you Need, but only 2 ram Slots. No thnaks, i preffer this one

That appears to be missing another CPU socket for my tastes lol ;)

I might have to consider the Z390 Dark for the EVGA collection I'm building up... Ummm.... :)

the z390 dark has an identity crysis, am i a high end board with many ports or am i an xoc board with the bare minimum

....this thing with that Colorful RTX 2080ti Kudan would look amazing!!!!!!!!!!! ....though after buying both i would only have enough left for a an intel celeron but.....

Damn, indeed. Very classy.

Sure about looks and innovation in positioning components it shines alot, but i dont know EVGA motherboards have not so good reputation over the years.

$500 USD is too much for an XOC board, I mean why would anyone get this when you can get an Asus Z390 Gene/Z370 Apex for less and still do just as good or better than this motherboard?
Even something like the AsRock Z390 Phantom ITX is a pretty solid alternative for less than $200, though it can only do 4K 12-12 timings atm and can't run XP.

One of the reasons that boards like the Z170M OCF were so popular was because it was cheap @ only $200 yet still extremely competitive. Not to mention it can still hang with the Z370/390 boards for XOC, even with a 9900K.

...gotta be for the extreme over-clockers or 1% limitless budget builders who need it for the looks...

.....update...its for over-clockers:

Mine arrived last night 7:30pm after waiting for UPS all day long. Since the Z390 DARK board can only arrive after darkness falls. lol :D
