Hi everyone i am looking for some information based on the 775 socket as some pins were out of place. And im kinda concerned that reading up the layout these are the list for the xeon e5450
A3 - RS2#
B3 - RS0#
C3 - LOCK#
B1 - VSS

As the pins are out of place on the socket on asus p5q premium as i have already straighten them out. My question is does these 4 pins i mentioned above affect the cpu and motherboard as it close to the gold arrow to be exact

As i was wondering will those selected pins affect the stability of the cpu and motherboard if the pins were out of place or not connecting correctly?

Just assume they will. I doubt anyone here has the knowledge to give you a better answer than that.

I may have to do the usual testing to see how it affect the cpu and motherboard as i was experiencing crashing of the games before i found the pins out of place as i was due for thermal paste replacement so i will try and update new infomation when i get a chance

Well i did find out that the pins did affect the voltage on the ram and northbridge for example before the fix the voltage on the bios was set to 2.14v the read point on the slots will read a1/a2 @ 2.189v and b1/b2 @ 2.195v and the northbridge 1.50v in bios as the read point will read 1.563.v. Now the pins are setted correctly same bios settings will show ram a1/a2/b1/b2 @ between 2.203v to 2 207v and the northbridge read 1.537v. It seems to make the system abit more stable which is a good result :)
