Sony's Marketing VP Peter Dille Attacks Microsoft

A few days back Microsoft's Peter Moore attacked Sony's PS3...Today Sony's marketing VP Peter Dille does the same about Microsoft's console the Xbox 360.

I don't want to be argumentative, but I take issue with Microsoft either having a long tail, or being profitable, because they've never done either. They've never made a dime in this business. With the Xbox 360 you've got an inconsistent design, some have a hard drive, some don't, and none of them have Blu-ray, and the HD DVD will be out of business in a matter of months. Is this a 10 year product? And by the way it doesn't even work. Do they want to be selling it for 10 years and refurbishing them all for 10 more years? I don't think that's a 10 year product. You could disagree with me, or they could disagree with me, but I'd put that up against the PS3 any day

Peter Dille should be careful now Moore is a big cheese at EA, imagine if Moore pulled all the EA line up from sony and only let nintendo and microsoft have those sport games that is a big cash cow.

this could of be a clever move by MS to let moore go and play with EA, after all the xbox has been his little baby!

I find it weird that moore left Microsoft so suddently...My guess as well is that MS and EA did exchange top people...Perhaps an alliance is at hand....

Not gonna happen, overall, the whole PS brand is a big cash cow for EA as well, imagine it as being a symbiotic relation, and they wont stop supporting it just for a personal grudge of one of his employees. Besides, how would you call that? conflict of interests?

I'm sure that now that Moore is at EA he'll make the best to make EA earn money, not for the interests of their former employers.

Peter Dille sounds bitter about Microsoft taking up part of their market share. He must not be too happy either that the Wii is top in Japan.
Aren't both Blu-Ray and HD DVD both on the rocks and short term? With the UV burning concept starting to come up and offering so much more. I think both are just a phase. Plus UV is a co-op of organizations that aren't making a profit off of it, wider spread availability (not that Toshiba is being stingy).

By Sony's response the gloves are off now right?!?

Inconsistent design? I'm guessing he's never heard of the word "choice"....

I can't believe he actually thinks the PS3 is doing well...the only console its outselling is the GBA...and not by much.

But it is doing well, though not as well as expected. Ive never had the 2-3 hour of gameplay freeze time you have encountered and alot of others I know havent either. I do admit the heat output of the PS3 is tremendous as my room tends to heat up quite a bit with it.

Good for Dille to attack MS. Folks think MS can say whatever the shit they want and thats alright, but the minute someone responds, the dill hole patrol gets out and starts mouthing off. (Yes Im doing it too, I apologize). I like his point about the HDD, that should be included in every console of the 360, not just the premium.

Why include an HDD which will raise the cost when some people obviously have no need for it ? If they did then the only XBOX 360 that would sell would be the premium version....
