Game suggestions (for work laptop)

Hi Guys,

With my new job I am working away from home a lot, lots of hotels so looking for a couple of games I can play on my laptop,

Being laptop I was thinking more RTS/Turn based games being easier to control (RTS which require little micromanaging I'd guess) I have Xcom and Civ V but was thinking of a few others? open to suggestions,

Shadworun series (the non tabletop games)?

Also, Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3 and its expansion, if you hadn't raised a pitchfork at it when it was released. Might need you to go conservative on the settings though. Tiberium Wars is a lighter option.

Thanks, I do have all of the C&C games, I was thinking of throwing Open RA on it for a bit of nostalgia. I've never heard of the Shadowrun series of games.

I've only played Shadowrun HongKong tbh, but it was a decent game. It's shorter than XCOM from what I recall, but being a spin-off a tabletop, it invests more on the story and narrative.

Another good option for an RTS with little micromanagement is Company of Heroes.

Yeah, definitely look at Shadowrun: Returns, Shadowrun: Dragonfall, and Shadowrun: Hong Kong.

Wasteland 2 is quite similar to X-Com.

Maybe consider Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, Seven: The Days Long Gone, and Satellite Reign.

Here's my field engineer travelling work laptop collection, with some newer editions. I'm in the field a lot less now since I stepped up to manage engineers but maintain a few of these for those occasions still. I would try to keep no more than 2-3 on my work laptop at anytime. It is a mix of RTS and 4X.

In no particular order:

Total Annihilation Commander's Pack GOG editio
C&C Tiberian Sun Complete (free and MP from CNCNet.org)
- C&C95 through RA2 is free from there and has MP support
- All the TS-engine mod games like Twisted Insurrection and OpenRA's Shattered Paradise
Sword of the Stars Complete from GOG
Astrox Imperium Steam or GOG
World in Conflict (free and MP from massgate.org)
- It is still kinda GPU intensive...I never tried this one on my work laptop.
Warcraft 3
Starcraft + HD
Starcraft 2 (maybe?)
Distant Worlds: Universe
Creeperworld 3
Particle Fleet: Emergence
Supreme Commander 2
- Great for low powered large scale 3D RTS...I have a lot of fun with this one still when I MP with my youngest son.

- $5 PC and $2 Android iirc. Worth it on both.
