if its like my 1050ti it will overclock well.. the only downside being the 75 watt limit the pci-e slot puts on it.. as i have said earlier these cards are downclocked to fit in with the 75 watt limit..

buy one with a plug on it and it will go like it really can do and comparing a pcie power card with anything amd offers strikes me as a bit dumb..

It's not really "hard" limit and it's 5.5A@12V rail thus 66W for pcie slot by spec. max. I don't think that any known graphics card has DC/DC converters for that 3.0A@3.3V rail so those last 10W are unused. Well of course the limiting factor is in graphics card's bios, like Palit gtx 1050 ti KalmX has obviously 60W TDP by tpu's review.

my 1050ti overclocked pretty well it didnt seem to have any bios clock limit.. i didnt take it as far as it would go for fear of pushing the pci-e slot beyonds its limits..

the boost clock is showing over 250 mhz higher than stock.. the memory took a nice overclock as well..

So the benchmarks are out;

As predicted the 1650 beats out the 1050ti by a solid margin, 25% average. So standing by the recommendation to @CheapMeat, the 1650 would be a worthwhile upgrade from the 1050ti you've got. A 1660 or 1660ti would be better if you can save the extra bit of money, but if you can only afford 1650 you will not be let down.

Oh wow, 25% does sound worthwhile.

Maybe I can sell my 1050 Ti for a little to help with the 1650. I've been having trouble maintaining 60fps at 1080p on my current favorite game, War Thunder, while having toned down the settings. I don't mind that I can't do anything ultra or anything like that. That's fine for me. But some stuttering in high intensity battles with lots of tracers, effects & vehicles/ships and lack of visual acuity or fidelity (due to graphic settings) (not sure what the right word is) at long ranges in battle are hurting me gameplay wise, especially in Naval. So looking to have just a more consistent "good" rather than here-or-there or "great".

It should be noted however that the Radeon RX570 performs better and at a lower price than the 1650 in most benchmarks, see below;

the 1650 at 75 watts with no need for an extra power supply plug makes a lot of sense..

the ones that need the extra plug dont.. which is pretty much what Steve is saying..

i have just bought the palit plug-less version from scan UK.. its to go in a small form factor PC i have.. i ordered it yesterday and it arrived this morning..

i also sold the existing palit 1050 TI to a neighbour for £75 quid.. :)

the 1650 will enable 1080 gaming at mostly 60 fps.. which makes it ideal to turn any old office type machine into an entry level gaming machine..

also it dosnt make sense to set such a card at ultra setting as most benchmarks have done.. medium to high are the setting to use not ultra..

Agreed and that would be the best use-case scenario for this card.

i just bunged mine in.. put 200mhz on the core and 300 mhz on the memory fired it up and it scores 7800 in firestrike.. temps are 65 C at 45% fan speed..

mine isnt the OC version which is why i just bunged 200 on the core.. i recon the hardware is exactly the same just the clocks they come set at..

all in all spot on for what i wanted it for.. 10 out of 10..

ps.. its had a couple of hours playing Far cry five.. it manages around 60 fps at 1080.. it does kind of tell me my main machine is way overkill for what i do with it.. he he

System Name M3401 notebook
Processor 5600H
Motherboard NA
Memory 16GB
Video Card(s) 3050
Storage 500GB SSD
Display(s) 14" OLED screen of the laptop
Software Windows 10
Benchmark Scores 3050 scores good 15-20% lower than average, despite ASUS's claims that it has uber cooling.

Yeah.
Remind me, what was the 1050Ti => 570 gap? Was 570 1.5 times faster or so?

A "worthy" successor to terribly priced 1050Ti indeed.
