Ubisoft has announced Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint. In this new game, you play a "Ghost" - an elite special ops soldier who fights the "Wolves" as its main cause. Its another release in Tom Clancy series, this time following the steps and improving upon its previous release - Wildlands.

Update: The developer has commented on Twitter, that the game will be "always online" - there is no offline mode, which explains why AI-controlled bots on your team have been removed.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a military-like shooter set in an open world environment where you are constantly surrounded by threats. You are fighting the "Wolves", an ex-military group that has gone rogue. They are ready to use any means necessary to take you down. Nature is ruthless as well - there are things like slippery slopes where you can easily tumble down and lose health. However, the game action being set in the jungle, you can use many of nature's elements to hide when needed.

Ubisoft has released a 14-minute long gameplay video which shows the game's graphics, characters, and missions.

The game can be pre-ordered for 59.99$ from Ubi Store. There are several editions of the game:

  • The Gold Edition with the base game and the Year 1 Pass ($99).
  • The Ultimate Edition with the base game, the Year 1 Pass and the Ultimate Pack ($119.99).
  • The Wolves Collector's Edition with the base game, the Year 1 Pass, the Ultimate Pack, a Ubicollectibles figurine of Lt. Colonel Cole D. Walker, a Steelbook, exclusive lithographs, Walker's dog tag, and a waterproof map of Auroa as well as the soundtrack ($189.99).

Breakpoint will be released on 4th October for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. For PC gamers game will be available either in Epic Games or Ubi Store.

The uploader has not made this video available in your country.

works fine here, which country is that?

edit: I see it's US/ florida, so I wonder what's the issue

game looks ok, but a bit too pricey imo, maybe if they offered it at a discount if you already owned original, so like $39 for owners of original, or $30, then I might bite. but no for now is my final answer.

Another Ghost Recon, another crap… Where are the glorious days of original Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon (2001) when one shot meant one kill? The same happened with Rainbow 6 series. I had so much fun playing these true tactical shooters.

one shot isn't one kill though in real life. depends on a lot of context, bullet size, aim, blood loss, etc. plenty of soldiers in actual combat have been wounded but still capable of fighting until the battle was over.

The OG Rainbox Six is where it's at.

Keep dreaming. 5.56×45mm NATO ammunition is designed to FU up inside, 7.62×39mm USSR to thorn your arms and legs. You might not die, put neither will you walk around.

Or auto heal after about 20 seconds.

Pre order done. Enjoying wildlands at the moment

and if it does tear up a leg, doesn't mean a well trained soldier still won't get some bullets fired from a stationary position after a medic ties up his leg to stop blood loss, also where have you been? even the terrorists take hardcore painkillers/psychoactive to make them immune to pain.

i said it depends on the context... i am not saying every bullet to a leg would allow for a soldier to continue fighting. lol wow. people don't understand context anymore, not everything is all or nothing. get over yourselves

There is no context with auto heal. That's a fantasy feature that does not exist in real life. The vast majority of games allow you to get shot and still run around as if you were never hit except for a health meter.

I've had unpleasant "fortune" to be 19 years old army medic recruit when war in Yugoslavia started. I saw first hand what kind of flash wounds Kalashnikov and Dragunov do. You can get away with being hit by low velocity ammunition if you're extremely lucky or if 7.62 penetrates your lungs and go through you (deadly with 5.56×45mm - lower velocity makes it bounce off bones) or hits your arms/legs. Everything else means death. Fighting after being shot with assault rifle? Possible, but only in Hollywood movies and games.

Actually, you said this:

one shot isn't one kill though in real life.

Then added a contextual statement which negated your first line.

And... in fairness, this comment should be owned and nurtured before being thrown out:

Nothing personal, you just seemed to lash out at folk for discussing how brutal 5.56 and 7.62 rounds are. They're designed to maim and kill, not to give you a second chance. So really, if you survive, it's down to damn good luck and bad shooting. A good marksman puts their target down, to protect their own.

I totally agree with Unikin, I feel just the same way.
I want the old days back with a strong singleplayer story where youre not dependent on other players ruining your game or tactic.

Those days are gone. Publishers want to push microtransactions. Ubisoft said last year that they now make more revenue from microtransactions than they do from selling the actual games.

right but sometimes in battlefields you are firing 500 yards out... sometimes you miss or only graze... and i said it depended on the context of the hit of the bullet... anyways, unwatching thread. later

Always online and requires a separate launcher? I'll pass....

...as I do with all Ubisoft games.

LOL. “Uplay launcher bad”.

Yep, it's terrible. I've been playing Assassin's Creed in form or another for 3 months now and not one issue with Uplay...sinful.

Games should always have Singleplayer

There is now a single player with this new one
