Last week, we brought you an exclusive report of an ASUS AMD X570 motherboard price-list leak that foretells a $50-150 average price increase over launch-prices of motherboards based on the previous-generation AMD X470 chipset. European PC component price aggregator Geizhals has a partial list of X570 motherboards by another major manufacturer, MSI. It must be noted here, that while the ASUS price-list was for day-one retail prices, these prices of MSI boards are early listings, and could be marked-up by the retailer.

The cheapest model on the list is the MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus, which succeeds the roughly-120€ X470 Gaming Plus at a whopping 201.30€. Interestingly, the MPG X570 Gaming Edge WiFi, which is supposed to be a slightly toned-down variant of the Gaming Pro Carbon, is priced only 18€ more, at 219.50€. The MEG X570 ACE, which will be a fast-moving high-end product, is priced at 414.60€, or roughly on par with HEDT motherboards based on the Intel X299 or even AMD X399 chipsets. For 100€ more, you get the better equipped MEG X570 Creation. Record-seeking enthusiasts will have their sights on the MEG X570 GODLIKE, though, which can be yours for 780.40€.

RIP hype. I just hope that the 4xx series will support the 12/16 core CPUs without issues. Nothing left to do but waiting for real reviews.

Only x470 high-end motherboards will support 12/16 core Ryzen CPUs.

If x570 hit 700 price tag, what price we can expect x590 top boards?

A bit insane

Yeap, those prices are insane. I'm not planning to upgrade my Asus CH7 + Ryzen 2700x anytime soon. I'm happy with my rig...

That is very incorrect. The MSI X470 Gaming Plus will support those and its not a high end board by any means

Only in theory. Nobody tested Ryzen 12/16 core on those mobos.

Prices like this make many of us to think about a threadripper motherboard. A threadripper motherboard at least give you 8 memory slots. Cheapest x399 is $249.

If is based on tdp then any b450 or x470 will. Remember that 2700x is 105w. A 3950x is 105w.

I don't know what's the point of the Godlike motherboard fot that price with the features it lacks. Pay nearly 300€ extra and get less IO and no 10G onboard chip (comes as add in card instead).
Creation and Ace look miles better both in terms of price and features.

amd still has the same price to perf ratio, just u gotta spend more to see it lmao

And most of those MSI motherboards dont even come with internal USB 3.1 header, MSI with its questionable quality of components is worth giving a miss.

A BIOS update is all I needed for my x370 MB.

What theory? AMD states these CPUs are supported.
Manual overclocking on the other hand is never officially supported on any CPU on any mobo.
When you are overclocking you are running "out of spec" anyway so all of that goes out the window.

As a gamer only, I am not impressed by Ryzen 3000, yeah Ryzen 3000 beats Intel in about half the games, but Intel still beats Ryzen 3000 in the other half of games, that's not what a call major performance leap... I am waiting out one more year before I upgrade I think.

Zen 2 is practically a 7nm Skylake (according to AMD charts)---yeah nothing new in terms of performance. The best time to really upgrade to a new gaming PC system is when next-gen consoles come out, so we get a better picture of what kind of hardwares are needed to run next-gen games.

200 Euros... oof. good luck to budget builders who wants PCIe 4.0 when they have to spend a lot on motherboard alone. Guess that AMD is no longer the brand of value & Intel is starting to look like a more reasonable build to go.

Yes, "nice AMD" days are likely coming to an end.
you seems to forget that AMD is not running charity, they also company that seek profit and answer to investor just like any other companies

Well I was the first to tell that amd is not here to make friends anymore and that reflects how they priced their ryzen 3xxx cpu series.

Are you saying the board makers don't have chips to test with? :kookoo:

Yet.but there will be.
No, there won't, only X599.

Also, don't forget that these are the first three European retailers listing pricing, so it might be way off.

If they can't make enough profit by selling a new mobo for every new cpu - as for Intel, they just raise the price per each mobo.
