HP announces their newest addition to their Omen lineup of specialized gaming monitors. The Omen X 27 (you have to love the simplicity) is a 27" monitor featuring a TN panel - the compromise needed for achieving the ultra-fast 240 Hz refresh rates on offer. The 1 ms response time ensures fast, responsive pixels, while FreeSync 2 is a must for refresh rates such as these - either your graphics card or CPU will introduce some framerate dips, you can almost be sure of that. There's HDR support at the lowest FreeSync 2-supported level - 400 nits. HP say this TN panel can render 90% of the DCI-P3 color space - which sets it apart from most other TN panels and even some IPS solutions.

The Omen X 27 joins HP's growing cadre of Omen monitors this September, joining the Omen X 25 - which has already made its debut for 630€ or $550. Connectivity includes 1x DisplayPort, 1x HDMI, and 2x USB 3.0 slots. Pricing is set at $649.99.

csgo will easily on most modern systems. and csgo does look better at 1440p imo mass effect trilogy probably will, lot of older games will have no issues pushing 200+

nah my gtx 1080 can push 200 frames on dragon age origins at 1440p, and that game looks so good at 1440p. /shrug lot of older games are easy to push.

I find card games more enjoyable at 100 fps versus 60, much more relaxing experience than seeing card blur. /shrug judge me all you want its a free country and i enjoy what i enjoy

1440p @ 240Hz = 4k @ 106Hz
2080ti might handle it.

that logic makes no sense at all. games/gpu's handle 1440p much easier than 4k...

Pixel Count : 2160p / 1440p = 2.25

I know but that is not how real world benchmarks scale. and it varies by game on top of that.

ofc.

If you play Crysis in 2019 you will be amazed how it crushes your $4000 gaming rig at 4k .

You single out a badly optimized/coded game... mmmk. Lot of games scale just fine... so...

@zlobby yeah it is

You said it varies with game so I gave you an example.
You can always put CS:GO on the table for >400 fps , or Crysis which optimized for 2 cores , or something like Doom 2016 has a hard 120 fps cap.

Even if this was an 8-bit TN, the viewing angles and colour shift at 27 inch would be a murder...

This is a 1440p 240hz panel, so it's not going to be an IPS :roll: literally 1080p 240hz is finally getting IPS.
