AMD announced the 2019 edition of its "Raise the Game" game-bundle offer that goes with purchase of its Ryzen desktop processors and Radeon RX graphics cards. The bundle extends the 3-month Xbox Game Pass to a much larger part of AMD's product lineup, and not just the Radeon RX 5700-series. The bundle introduces three new AAA games to the mix - Tom Clancy's "Ghost Recon: Breakpoint," "The Outer Worlds," and "Borderlands 3," including AMD-exclusive in-game content. Depending on what AMD product you buy, you either get both games, or get to choose between the two. The 3-month Xbox Game Pass stays included.

AMD's flagship Ryzen 9 series and Ryzen 7 3800X includes both games - "The Outer Worlds" and "Borderlands 3," - and the 3-month Xbox Game Pass. The Ryzen 7 3700X, 3600X, 2700X, and 2700 include one of the two games - "The Outer Worlds" or "Borderlands 3," and the 3-month Xbox Game Pass. The Ryzen 5 3600, 3400G, and Ryzen 5 2000-series include just the 3-month Xbox Game Pass. Over in the GPU front, buyers of Radeon RX 5700-series, RX 590, RX 580, and RX 570, get to choose one of the two games - Tom Clancy's "Ghost Recon: Breakpoint" or "Borderlands 3," and also receive the 3-month Xbox Game Pass. The Radeon VII, Radeon RX Vega series, and Radeon RX 560 stocks include 3-month Xbox Game Pass. You also get to choose either of the two games when you buy a qualifying pre-built desktop or notebook powered by AMD Ryzen or Radeon products.

You now what would really "raise the game"?

A Navi card that could go toe to toe with the 2080ti.

Since AMD has to work with developers for consoles, it's relatively inexpensive for them to do these promotions which is nice.

They made this promotion too complicated though.

sorry, but three turds hardly make it worth one good aaa.
if that was division 2,resident evil and strange brigade like they bundled with rx590 the 3800x would be on the way already.
it's not so even with those three I can't justify the premium over 3700x,it's 3% faster for 12% more power and 20% higher price for god's sake,no wonder they're throwing in games.

for 3900x it's another story, that cpu is worth it even with no bundle.

The opposite applies too. If something's given for free, we just have to suck it up and be happy and are not allowed to complain (discuss)? There are quite a few 'free' things that still make for a horrible deal.

Even more so, when stuff gets given for free, you know the original deal was a ripoff to begin with, and the ripoff failed. 'Free' is like steroids for lacking purchases. Here on TPU, we're used to looking under the actual hood to see how it really works. This topic and the complaints are exactly that.

Get used to it :)

Oh and one more thing to correct here. Free stuff you never asked for isn't free stuff, its extra stuff. If you really have to sell your GPUs based on the value of a game bundle, I'd say that's going pretty low. Not a sign of competitive product. So yeah, I totally get the 2080ti comment made earlier, because its bang on the money in this context.

Like this, see.
breakpoint looks like the turdest remake ubisoft released for years.
outer worlds looks like any generic "exploration shooter" game they're releasing now
borderlands is just weird

the former bundle was a thousand times better
division 2 is a really fun shooter.not the best, but for those who love grinding, nice locations and beautiful looks paired with good mechanics it's at least 100 hrs of good entertainment.
resident evil is AAA in capital letters
strange brigade looks like lots of fun too

I almost bought a rx590 just to get the games and sell it new, open box.and I regret not doing that.

Yeah...I keep hoping for that but it's not going to happen. I just got a 2080ti but want something with Freesync for my 4ktv from AMD. Best I can get is Vega64?

I'm trying my best to hold off, as I'd rather buy into the RTX 3000 line and 7nm nvidia rather then a year+ old turing. But the rumor mill is awfully wuiet for nvidia...

RVII is the fastest, but the vega 64 can be found used for half the price.

And with a 3600X you get one game, except the 3600X already costs as much as the 3600+a game at retail price.

And I wasn't complaining, I was just pointing out this deal is not across the board, it is just trying to move some of the more expensive parts. Make of that what you wish.

They havent uppped the prices, they havent ripped anyone off if the price/performance was good when they released and at least comparable to intel/nvidia then wtf is the problem, yes yes we know, those amd haters want them to give theeir stuff away at half price cause their not as good as nvidia and intel so hey why not make themselves go bust trying to please the nay sayers *yawn* theres a free game, crap or not sell the damn code, oh wait.... those bitching have no intentions of going out and buying one anyway  :nutkick:its funny, I must have psychic powers, I literally guess everyones specs who commented correctly before checking them go figure that huh?

While I generally agree with you, some of the complaints were useless garbage.

I am not exactly sure what they were thinking with the 3800x. I also wonder if a 3900 is incoming for those chips that can't clock well....which seems like a high percentage. There naming structure really makes segmenting out lower performing chips difficult.

vega 64 can be found used for half the price.

V64 can be found new for half the price. Depending on locale. But the VII fairs much better at the higher resolutions and if you need frames then you need frames.

There are plenty of good gaming hours in the near universal xbox game pass offer for three months, im paying for it atm.

VII is more powerful, but the vega 64 can still push med/high without a problem at 4K. Th3pwn3r is going to use it to drive a TV, which likely means he wont be sitting right up to it, making ultra detail worthless, and he already has a 2080ti for demanding PC games. For a couch gamer, the vega 64 is plenty powerful.

Medium in most cases, high in not many. Assuming it is a 60hz, might be able to squeeze a few more titles with high.

sorry, but three turds hardly make it worth one good aaa.
if that was division 2,resident evil and strange brigade like they bundled with rx590 the 3800x would be on the way already.
it's not so even with those three I can't justify the premium over 3700x,it's 3% faster for 12% more power and 20% higher price for god's sake,no wonder they're throwing in games.

for 3900x it's another story, that cpu is worth it even with no bundle.

I wouldn't say Outta Worlds is a turd, it looks to be the only promising one, I'm not into borderlands games but that doesn't make BL3 bad or anything as well as Ghost recon. It's just every forum I go to now people on TPU have become naturally negative & egotistical, I'm all for constructive criticism.

I love AMD, but this feels like a slap in the face for those of us who'd shown tremendous support for AMD by buying their CPU/GPU at launch. It's like saying, "thanks for your support, early adopters, but we at AMD are leaving you out in the cold in favor of late adopters'.
