Bungie Announces 4 Player Co-op Campaign in Halo 3

There is good news for fans of the Halo franchise. Bungie has revealed that its upcoming Halo 3 title will allow up to 4 players to game cooperatively in campaign mode via XBOX Live or System Link. As a result 3 new characters have been created to avoid every player looking the same. Bungie says that player 1 will control Master Chief, player 2 the Arbiter and players three and four will get the chance to control two brand new Elite characters, N'tho 'Sraom and Usze 'Taham. Each character has the same abilities but will start with different weapons.

they did but this is for campaign mode!!

halo only had single unit coop. 2 players on the one xbox.

Its never been capable online, unless you have some weird definition whereby 'team' games are coop (coop is the singleplayer campaign, not human vs, human!)

This better mean the PC version will have coop too...

That was my biggest complaint about campaign in halo 2. Halo one came out before live did therefore there wasn't any live capabilities. As for halo 2...you could use live and could even launch co-op campaign from an xbox live party but everyone would be kicked out and only two players on the console would remain.

This is going to be a great way for people to beat the game for the first time. Some people just don't like playing single-player and this way they can have their friends along for the ride (and a full screen). Excellent addition...i'm very glad to hear it

H3 is going to be one of the best titles this year, though i'd have to say i think there are better titles on the way (i'm a huge halo fan and even i'll admit that.) Crysis is going to be far superior

Halo 3 will drop on September 25th, 2007...exactly 4 days before my birthday. For the record i have live as well. I own rainbow six vegas and have black and red edition. That's what live is for, to meet new friends! I don't have many friends with 360 either, at least not live, but I have 100 friends on Xbox Live.
