Such a damn shame this card is a total dud. If it was set at $150 for it then good. But nope. Currently better to buy a RX 580 as it's cheaper and same performance.

Maybe drivers may fix it like in the past.

The 5500xt is neck and neck with the 1650 super. Not a contender for the 1660, noticeable performance difference.

The 1650 super is available for $159. $209 buys you a 1660. At $169, the 8GB 5500xt MAY have some value, but even the its inability to perform reasonably above 1650 super levels means that VRAM is wasted. At $169, the 4GB card is a bad deal, identical performance for $10 more then nvidia. worse, custom 4GB 5500xts are usually $5-10 over MSRP. That $159 1650 super has a custom cooler on it. In this bracket, every $ matters. At $199, the 8GB 5500xt is a complete dud. $10 less then a 1660 with nowhere near the performance to justify the price.

This is only a contender for hardcore team red's money. The market is going to favor the more competitive geforce cards (man that feels weird to type). AMD lost the plot here.

It's $200 USD when the 1650 Super is about $160. They need to be more competitive in pricing. Especially since even mod range cards are too pricy. And I'm in Canada, so if will be priced even higher.

Thanks for the videos. Techyes also did one where the 5500XT 8GB scored very well. So I may have been somewhat premature in my critique of the cards
