OCZ, world renown manufacturer of memory modules, power supplies and heatsinks has released SPD-Z, a program to modify the SPD (Serial Presence Detect) on memory modules.
At the moment, the program only works for OCZ memory modules. The program works like this:

You can find the program here

doesnt someone already have a tool like this?

W1zz does and we did speak about both tools 2 days ago.

At least W1zz's works on more than one memory module.

ocz's tool is more newbie friendly and the "get matching spd from webserver" idea is really cool. because newbies can upgrade to a new spd in 5 clicks or so

they dont have alot of files yet (like mine) they r working on writing them they only have files for there products for the one they revision nothing new if u get error code 404 they dont have updates 4 u yet

yeah, i got the same, i can back mine up with it, but i'd have to use wizz's tool to edit it (which can read/write them anyway)
good idea in theory though, once its been out a while there should be lots of profiles available, and its very noob-friendly

Another win for W1zz, another loss for diagnostic groups @ big companies.

All these companies should just switch to W1zz's utilities, they obviously can't write a better one :).
