What's the point of a Series X since they will make all its games release on PC simultaneously? Worse still, first-party stuff will also have to run on the old XB1 for 2 years.

There's a lot of people who want to play games but don't have the first idea about how to build a pc. Some might think that building a pc requires more financial outlay. Others might have all their friends on Xbox. Some may have a TV and not a monitor. Some may not have a desk or room to put a pc. Some may have wives or girlfriends that don't want another electrical "gadget" in the house. I could go on if you like?

And about ten of those will be Xbox exclusives. About half that will actually receive attention by gamers.

Those people can just play the same games on their old XB1, Xbox One X or even PS4, which is a point perhaps I didn't make clear (all Series X games for first 2 years will be on XB1 too).

Anyone semi serious about gaming will have a gaming PC and won't need a Series X. Anyone who doesn't fall into the above two categories are a tiny niche.

On PS5, only a handful of its exclusives make it to PC. And unlike Series X, actual exclusives will be there day one (built from ground up to only run on PS5's specs as baseline). So it definitely looks a worthwhile proposition compared to its rival, which has essentially zero value to me because of the above.
