Halo 3 is officially one of the fastest selling games in history, passing the 1 million mark for pre-orders over a month and a half before the September 25th release day. The only game that has sold faster than this is the most recent installment in the Halo series, Halo 2, with 1.5 million pre-orders before launch day. Halo 3 could easily surpass that, and Microsoft/Bungie couldn't be happier. All this popularity is putting Halo 3 on the fast lane to more time in the marketing spotlight than the most recent Simpsons movie. Mountain Dew will be making a special version of it's drink for the Master Chief, which will be known for it's "invigorating blast of citrus cherry flavor" and "added caffeine for maximum intensity". Pontiac will be making a special version of it's G6 SUV, and will be hosting several "Gamer Garage" events. And that's not all. At this point, we'll be able to see Halo 3 memorabilia from Doritos, Burger King, Comcast, and even the gas station 7-11.

All the hype and i bet it sucks melon's, graphics look a little better than halo 2's and are not a patch on the likes of GOW but in the eyes of the fanboys out there, this game is their nirvana, no matter how much it festers...:wtf:

i wonder how much of the game has been held back so they can charge micro transactions for multiplayer maps and weapons.

omg... come on there even making a god damn car of this stupid over hyped game... i think this game is good and it deserves to be a nominee for GOTY, but these advertisements, product placements, endorsements its just getting out of hand for such a stupid game.. i mean it didn't to anything remarkable yet everybody thinks that THIS is the pinnacle of gaming stupid over hyped P.O.S

sry i had to blow off some steam

I can't wait. I want this game more than any other. I must know how it all ends. I love my PC, but Halo became my love when I first played it - it better not be a let down.

Holy Cow. If it looks anything as good as 1 and 2, Im in for a real treat with 3!!!

GoW sucked so hard. It looked awesome, but the game and plot were AWFUL. (although I have no x360, I played it at my friends place)

I admit, I am a fan of Halo and it's story (it actually has one :p) and Halo3 will probably make me buy a x360 or at least lease one for the time I play it.

I am not really interested in these overhyped marketing and products appearing everywhere. And I doubt a single one of these 1 Million preorders were done because, zomg, there's a MasterChief drink, lol.

Lol, I personally dont see what all the hype is for.
