HP unveiled its V8 RGB line of DDR4 memory modules targeted at the DIY market. The full-height UDIMM module is characterized by dark aluminium heatspreaders and an RGB LED silicone diffuser crown. The module comes in 8 GB single-rank, and 16 GB dual-rank densities, and speeds of DDR4-3000, DDR4-3200, DDR4-3466, and DDR4-3600. The lighting supports ARGB control through popular apps such as ASUS Aura, GIGABYTE RGB Fusion, MSI Mystic Light, and ASRock Polychrome. HP intends to sell the V8 RGB in single-module kits. The company didn't reveal pricing.

HP's strength is in making gaming laptops and desktops in large volume, getting them onto shelves and being the "my first gaming PC" of kids who are new to PC with parents who don't have a lot to spend when they look for one in Walmart, Best Buy or Target.

It's easy for me to recommend their Omen RTX 2060 laptop when the sale price sales $1099.

I'm glad to see they haven't given up on gaming, but there's so much competition that they are probably smartest focusing on making their gaming and workstations as highly competitive as possible rather than chasing enthusiasts who would rather spend their money on the most expensive, unnecessary badge-whoring and spec-whoring numbers they can.

At this rate, I will not be surprise that the likes of Acer, Dell and Lenovo will start dabbling with PC components as well. Like Corsair is now in the business of building PC with one of its recent acquisition if I am recall wrongly.

If the timings are good it could be worth checking out. 3600/CL16 would be awesome.

I seriously doubt this ram will be anything special. Well the V6 was special in the sense it was bargain basement ram dressed up to look like it's not.
