Windows 10 2004 May Update Will Bring Better Disk Performance

There is no need for a large SSD. Put the OS on a 120GB SSD or 240GB SSD, they are stupid cheap these days. Use the 1TB HDD for storage of all their files.

Yes doesn't work with them and they don't want to be retrained on it because then they get confused.

I'm with you, put s cheap SSD in setup all downloads etc to save to the hard drive and you then pass your granny/neighbors a pc they will find easier to use, I talk them into this it saves me and them time and they have all loved the snappy response I get them even on lowly tech old PC's.

Even web surfing speeds improve.

@candle_86
never had any problem with any retired user i fixed a pc for, all loving the snappy response when using win.
for most i converted the HDD into a backup drive with an external usb enclosure, proper naming in win.
so far not one got "confused"/had trouble adapting. (then again most of my "customers" are mil/gov background, so YMMV).

besides, we know what happens to species on this planet who arent willing to change/adapt.. ;)

26th is tomorrow. Start rolling out the Update finally ?

I wonder about AMD's readiness to support it and work properly with it.
No Radeon driver since April 21st, and no chipset driver since April 7th....

:banghead:

I've installed it already, had reason to go with a reinstall so... Haven't had any issues so far, but I can't say i've tried to do much beyond browsing just yet :P

The delay has been in action since beginning of month when they forwarded the notice. A notice with end period tomorrow.
