Any chance we will see Windows 10 2004 released today? Tuesday is usually the chosen day correct?

I know most places say 26 or 28th this month. I just was curious since there doesn't seem to be an official sourced answer on it. It just so happens I am getting an NVME drive tomorrow, currently using SSD only. So I am doing clean install with 2004.

Does anyone know the official release date for it?

yea tuesday is usually rls date of updates and such. Usually major feature updates are rolled out in stages as some get it to day one but a lot don't see it for week or weeks later as to easy bandwidth load.

Sure there is. Microsoft has announced and published their schedule calendar in several places, including here. Like all major updates, it will not be pushed to all ~1 billion Windows 10 users at the same time. That would overwhelm network and server resources the world round. So, by that calendar, the next "Feature update" will be released between May 26 and 28. But as arbiter correctly noted, some computers may not get the update until several days or even weeks later.

However, ISO versions should be available for manual downloads upon release, or shortly thereafter.

As far as your new NVME SSD coming tomorrow, I wouldn't wait for 2004. But that's me.

Doubtful. Drivers on the amd-side aren't WDDM 2.7 ready yet.

It may not be in its complete polished form but you can get it now HERE: just be sure to force run the updates and patches, all of which I believe will auto update when the official release is made, without needing to wipe and redo.

Current version with updates is up to: 19041.264

I think last time they posted the manual update a bit early for those that wanted to adopt early, https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 there

I will just check that periodically and see if it pops up in next few days. I will wait until 26th if I have to for my clean install, no big deal. I have done a clean install every 6 months or so with each new big update, never had a problem really. Start menu was a little buggy once a couple years ago, but meh it didn't bother me

seeing as how shifty AMD drivers can be. I will probably just do the latest beta whenever i do my 2004 clean install and then not touch it for 6 months, as i do a clean install every 6 months. might just be easier that way, and im skeptical upgrading drivers every few weeks really has any benefit anyway. i usually upgrade and never see a difference even in the "new supported games" for that said driver. i think the clean install of OS is by far the best option with as complex as everything has gotten

I'm interested in trying the new GPU scheduler, specially in OpenGL workloads.

So that is one of the changes? New GPU scheduler? I need to read more about the 2004 release and see what exactly it brings to the table and how much of an improvement it will be in comparison to the 1909.

Well, AMD just released 20.5.1, but I will confirm if it has WDDM 2.7 after I do my clean install of 2004.
