Blu-ray Version of '300' Outsells HD-DVD Version 2:1

Actually, stand alone Blue-Ray players have many more options than the PS3 version.
That's not true, at least not in my case. My PS3 is superior at BluRay playback in every single way, compared to my Samsung BDP-1000. The PS3 responds faster and down-scales to 720p better, and just generally looks better. It has every BluRay feature that the Samsung has, as well.

Sony didnt invent blu-ray, it was invented by an incredible amount of companies, its just that sony integrated it into the PS3, so dont go bad mouthing blu-ray due to your hatred of sony, for your information it was invented by: Apple, Dell, Hitachi, HP, JVC, LG, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Pioneer, Philips, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, TDK and Thomson.

Well no, those are the companies that support the Blue-ray camp, it was indeed Sony that invented it.

I'm no fan of Sony as I think they are overpriced, excessively propriatery (Memory Stick; why when there are other formats both cheaper and faster?) and hurting consumers (root-kits, lawsuits etc). Still, I love Pioneer and Samsung, so it may well be Blue-ray. In either case I've got no intention of buying until the price is less than £100 for a player and £15 for a disk, and most likely I'll wait until there are multi-format units and hundreds of movies to choose from.

I hope blu ray dies, sry i'm a anti-fan boy of sony. I can't stand sony's products. they are overpriced and they quality isn't that great of many of their products. I really hope hd-dvd wins this but it's looking like blu-ray will win. :shadedshu

btw 300 isn't even worth watching let alone in hd :shadedshu:shadedshu

LOL? Your a wrench.

We don't call each other a "wrench" here on TPU. Chill out guys. Think about how embarrassing it would be to get banned over HD formats :p.

Blasphemy! That is one of my all-time favorite movies now. I bought it the day it came out.

It's a great action movie, nothing more nothing less. The plot sucks, they stretched the truth horribly. Other than that, the fighting is kick ass!

Hahah, of course they stretched the truth. It's not based on the actual story itself, it's based off of the graphic novel, or comic book if you will, that was based off the story. It's supposed to be stretched. Otherwise, it had some kick ass cinematography and CGI in it that made it my favorite action flick full of eye-candy. Very nice IMO.

300 spartans is the actual story, and is also a good movie (in an old, pre cgi blockbuster kinda way)

Lol, yes it's "based on a true story". It's Holloywood's verison of 300.

EDIT: Yes, I also loved the movie was great.

That's actually not true. The studio support is there but they are not releasing that many movie titles. But don't take my word for it, look here. Before you post you better find out which movies are already under Sony and which are backers.

That is very true, but you also have to remember hd-dvd isn't releasing that many titles either. You can sway this either way. It all will just come down to who has more support from the consumer, and right now, neither have the support to win the format war.

300 was a great movie - until the end.
