Amazon will likely be a good chance in the U.S. to get them. Mine just arrived yesterday. Amazon lists them as the "old version". Lucky for people like us, most people are clueless and will bypass them, thinking newer is always better.

When and where did they say that? I couldn't find any SMR mention here:

Can you @timta2 or someone else please answer this? I have hidden my reddit post I mentioned and showed on my first comment in this thread until I get an answer on this, so I'd know more about the matter and I would be able to decide if I should either delete the post or unhide it with or without any further edition.

Can you please answer, @timta2? As far as I know, the introduction of SMR in Barracuda 2017 models was not disclosed before or at its launch.
