Last week we reported on the leaked NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 reference card images which showed a large departure from the designs of previous NVIDIA reference cards with a dual-fan aluminium fin-stack cooler. Reddit user u/JDSP_ has created some high quality renders of the card which were shared online, the renders are missing power connectors, NVLink, and PCB material but other than that may be a good look at what's coming from NVIDIA.

It takes nvidia sooooooooooooooo fuuuuuuuuuuucking foreeeeeeeeeever to release a new GPU so that the fans are gonna release the real GPU sooner than them lol

Wow. What an odd design choice.

So maybe the gpu area vents out of your case and the vrm area vent into your case?

A user created renders? So it means it may be totally his idea not anything close to NVidia's.

this looks similar to a aib design came out a while ago
not the fan position but aib had the x design on some cards with yellow color on it..

might be wrong memory is a bit hazy

While it looks very nice, but I am not sure if its practical since there are only 2 fans, and one of them I supposed is hidden behind some mesh which may limit air intake.

Actually I believe the other fan is on the back of the card; an interesting design choice that could improve thermals.

renders based on photos of something of unknown origin.
so yeah, pretty much nothing even has a scent of official.
I do think this might be legit tho cause of the time,we usually get ref cooler pics around 2 months before realease.

I sure hope so. Nevertheless, you never know at this stage. Who knows, maybe it will be different when release is happening.

tbh I don't care much.I'm glad nvidia is out to compete with aibs with a good reference design.it drives the prices down.
and if their new reference design is as good as top air coolers,I may consider it.rtx 2000 cooler was good all round, but trio was still better unless you couldn't go with a 3-slot solution.

How do you know it this will drive price down? Maybe it won't but instead it will boost price up (alu alloy instead of plastic) or the efficiency will not be as great as previous one (although it is hard to believe it will be worse than the previous).

Now TPU is reporting on some drawing posted on Reddit?
I can't wait to upload my kids crayon sketches and read about them here.

I like how it looks in pristine condition but how is it going to look with a layer of fine dust in all those black fins.
I'm sure it will be expen$ive, so free maid service every six months should be included.
