Alleged specifications of NVIDIA's upcoming GeForce RTX 3090, RTX 3080, and next-generation TITAN graphics cards, based on the "Ampere" graphics architecture, surfaced in tweets by KatCorgi, mirroring an early-June kopite7kimi tweet, sources with a high hit-rate on NVIDIA rumors. All three SKUs will be based on the 7 nm "GA102" silicon, but with varying memory and core configurations, targeting three vastly different price-points. The RTX 3080 succeeds the current RTX 2080/Super, and allegedly features 4,352 CUDA cores. It features a 320-bit GDDR6X memory interface, with its memory ticking at 19 Gbps.

The RTX 3090 is heir-apparent to the RTX 2080 Ti, and is endowed with 5,248 CUDA cores, 12 GB of GDDR6X memory across a 384-bit wide memory bus clocked at 21 Gbps. The king of the hill is the TITAN Ampere, succeeding the TITAN RTX. It probably maxes out the GA102 ASIC with 5,326 CUDA cores, offers double the memory amount of the RTX 3090, at 24 GB, but at lower memory clock speeds of 17 Gbps. NVIDIA is expected to announce these cards in September, 2020.

A more realistic approach, still as usual, take everything with a grain of salt, but 12GB for 3090 (probably 3080Ti) makes sense. I assume 3070 will have 8 GB and 3060 6 GB and some kind of 3050 or 16 like refresh, because Nvidia can (Nvidia didn't planned originally to squeeze in 16 series, yet we got one) and will do eventually to chase after one of the Navi 12 that's supposed to replace 5500XT or 5600XT if multiple Navi 12 rumors are true.

With AMD going for 8Gb being the standard it would kinda suck if the 3060 still be having at least 6gb. The 2060 Super already has 8gb VRAM so imo it would make sense if the 3070 and 3060 would both have 8gb minimum.

So there's still room for a card with all cores + faster memory...?

I was seriously considering plunking down for a Titan this generation.

Unless 6600/6700 has 8GB then yeah, otherwise no. Nvidia will unleash full force on milking again ~20 SKUs and AMD will follow with 1-2 year after year making 4GB still viable and considering vast majority of gamers still use 4GB and will continue so, I don't believe 4GB will be absolutely discarded yet.

When NVIDIA GA100 GPU was introduced (GTC 2020), I've done my own calculations and came up with the following numbers for the whole Ampere family:

Graphics card
Cores
SMs
GPCs
FP32 TFLOPs
GPU
Titan A588892623.6GA102
RTX 3080 Ti486476519.5GA103
RTX 3080S409664416.4GA104
RTX 3080396862415.9GA104
RTX 3070S v.1358456414.3GA104
RTX 3070S v.2345654413.8GA104
RTX 3070307248312.3GA106
RTX 3060S294446311.8GA106
RTX 3060256040310.2GA106

Calculations were based on RTX 2xxx lineup configuration (number of SMs and GPCs) and they were scaled to the specs of GA100 GPU (see below). FP32 TFLOPs were calculated assuming 2 GHz base clock. I'm not sure about the specs of RTX 3070S, so I've included two possible versions.

Here is the configuration of fully enabled GPUs:

GPU
Cores
SMs
GPCs
Note
GA10081921288Fully enabled GPU
A10069121087Up to 16 SMs/GPC
GA1026144966Fully enabled GPU
GA1035120805Fully enabled GPU
GA1044096644Fully enabled GPU
GA1063072483Fully enabled GPU

So much speculation going around these days. It feels like AMD and Nvidia themselves are participating in the misinformation.

Anyways, these some of the least credible specs that I've seen.

oh,huge hardware scores, alot, when we remembe ,ampere is 7nm,so clocks are much higher than usuall... i say put 250mhz easily more basic hz than usuall and then add oc'd capacity alot more.
also, seens nvidia leave bank alot cores, near 3000! max cores numbers are over 8000,yes, you read right.

big navi.. i seen it again...errh, and it cant get even near rtx 3090...what dream world some2 live?

amd cant beat now even 12nm rtx 2070 super OC gpu, and then its still must beat its four big brother..,there is enough to job legendary big navi.

also, we all KNOW fact that big navi is still 7nm gpu with nothing new special upgrade...remembe this, i bet that big navi is watercooled gpu....still i cant belive it, these days..
sure im sure it should beat now old 16nm gtx 1080 ti OC gpu..hmm, must...but remembe check it tdp and efficiency.

well 'my' leak it small, and i warn amd fans, dont except it anyhting what it CANT be, rtx 3070 is too much it.

anyway, competition is always good, you will seen both september and october. nvidia and amd.

btw, i wait also intel high end gpu...exiting...

great weekends all!

If the 3070 gives 2080Ti performance and doesn't cost over $600 I may actually upgrade from my 980Ti.....I'm thinking I won't be that lucky, on the price, that is.

As someone who is finally looking to upgrade after 5-6 years, the amount of blue balling going on here is really getting on my nerves. Just release the friggin' specs and a expected shipping date. Absolutely ridiculous, this whole charade.

I wanna go big too. Not titan but big die for sure.

Been working from home a lot, and I'm ready to make the jump to multiple 4K screens for gaming + CAD. Buying a 2080 Ti + Quadro RTX 6000 (or even 4000) doesn't make sense with the RTX Titan at $2500. But I'm not paying for that premium with Ampere mere months away. The 5700XT with Pro drivers is about as good as a Quadro M4000 from what, 2015? (I had both in my rig and benched em' + used for a couple weeks)

Well only time can tell if these spec are true or not. Do I retire my GTX 1080 TI or not, all depends on how long nvidia ends up digging there hands down in my poor wallet.

Cause while I cut use more gpu power for true 4K fun, 1080 Ti is no slug either yet. As far I have seen 1080 TI performance much like a RTX 2070 SUPER more or less. So cut use more power, but are not in a desperate need either. I can live with 1440P for a while yet if I have to.

Save you wallet for 5nm. as amazing this is, I mean 7nm 65.6Mtr/mm2 jump from 14nm 25Mtr/mm2, shrinks 2080Ti under 300mm2. ffs it is just the beginning. And you don't want to be unprepared when it happens. Yeah there will be 3080, and 3080Super, and then 4080, the right time to buy is with 4080Super, or 5080 even. or 3-4 years from now. Now you can take 3070 or something under 399 if it performs like 2080Ti.

I still think for high end gpu's like 3080 and up minimum memory 16gb, if this is true, 10gb, disappointed.

Besides the specs themselves being pulled out of thin air, I will point out that cards having memory buses wider than 256bit have never been cheap.
