Super Flower today launched the shortest 1000 W PSU, the Leadex V Gold 1000 W. Some of the earliest pictures of this PSU started surfacing in May, and the company teased its dimensions back in March. Built in the standard ATX-PS/2 form-factor, the PSU is just 13 cm in length. You typically find 450-650 W PSUs this compact. Despite its compact dimensions, the Leadex V Gold 1000 W offers full modular cabling (something that typically adds to the length of a PSU internally).

Speaking of internals, the Leadex V Gold offers a single +12 V rail design, 80 Plus Gold efficiency, DC-to-DC switching, APFC, and most common electric protections, against over/under-voltage, overload, overheat, and short-circuit. It uses a 120 mm fan to keep cool. Among the flat black modular cables are one 24-pin ATX, two 4+4 pin EPS, six 6+2 pin PCIe power, twelve SATA power, and four Molex. The lineup also includes lower power 850 W, 750 W, and 650 W models with fewer PCIe and SATA power connectors, although the USP of 13 cm length remains the same. Super Flower is backing the Leadex V Gold series with 5-year warranties. The company didn't reveal pricing.

Where is Super Flower sold in US? I remember reading something a while back about them coming to the US market but on their website US is not mentioned in the "Where to buy" section.

They are in Newegg, but stock is limited for the moment as I heard.

You know that Super Flower is just a small average manufacturer? Comparable with for example Seasonic. Not at all comparable with big high tier manufacturers.

I always find it really strange that people buy on brand name, especially if it isn't a great brand.

Have you ever looked at the difference in build quality between a high end PSU from a high tier manufacturer and a high end PSU from a average manufacturer?

No, my question was why you prefer an average manufacturer so much? I didn't said anything about buying a crappy brand.

High tier PSU brands are: Delta, Flextronics, Chicony for example. Not saying that all PSU's are great from these brands. But it makes a lot more sense to say that you bought one of these because of the brand name.

Hi,
Besides reviews I also bought from local micro center they had them in stock I did not mail order although I did return a corsair 850i that seemed like an empty case lol compared to the weight of the 850p2 :)
It's not a case of brand name, evga didn't make the p2 series or any of the series they slap their name on it's the fact they were made by super flower and were said to be very good at the time I was looking for a psu and kept buying them as time went by 10 year warranty boom.

There's pretty much only one PSU on top of my head that I would buy for a custom PC out of those OEMs and that is the AX1600i, which is a "best of the best expensive" unit for almost any given configuration. Delta offers PSUs to OEMs like HP for their pre-builts. While these units are of really good quality, they can't be bought from a Microcenter or whatever, and a lot of the time aren't even modular or have fans larger than 80mm. A good Seasonic will have a fair share of quality similar to that of those units while coming without those tidbits. True to that, Phanteks units often times can be had for a little well under 100 bucks and are great PSUs. Furthermore, there is nothing inherited wrong with buying a good Super Flower at a decent price. Clearly somebody's not here to bring sensible tidings...

Hi,
Corsair doesn't make anything either they do the same as most and slap their name on an item and increase price.

That is mostly true, they re-badge units. That doesn't necessarily make all bad though. As in the case of the spoken PSU, it's more of a unit for no budget builds, and you can't really buy it directly from Flextronics. Jonnyguru works with Corsair to tweak those units for the mass market.

Delta: Antec High Current Pro Platinum and Cooler Master V Platinum
Chicony: Corsair RM750/850 (first ones)
Flextronics: Corsair AXi series

Not that it matters much, my point was that people should read a bit more about power supplies before saying things that don't make sense.

A good Seasonic will have a fair share of quality similar to that of those units while coming without those tidbits.
The best Seasonic is nowhere close to a high tier manufacturers best. That's why they focus more on marketing. You don't have to be the best, you only need people believe you are. That's why they focus that much on performance in reviews.
True to that, Phanteks units often times can be had for a little well under 100 bucks and are great PSUs. Furthermore, there is nothing inherited wrong with buying a good Super Flower at a decent price.
I never said that, just read my post again. The first Super Flower I bought is getting close to 9 years old, a Golden Green Pro 400W. Back then it was a great choice for only 45 euro (excluding VAT and shipping costs). It is a good quality LLC resonant + SR + DC-DC 80PLUS Gold PSU. If Super Flower had something like that again it would be great. But the last years something similar costs almost double and that is a bit much.

Clearly somebody's not here to bring sensible tidings...
And that's why I pointed him to it...

Hi,

That was true 10 years ago, but certainly not true now. As there currently isn't a single series where they did that.

None of those PSUs you mentioned are worth buying, and I specifically mentioned that the Seasonic will have "a fair share" of its own similar quality to a Delta or what you have in your mind as the exquisite quality PSU. There is nothing wrong with his statement as he mentioned that he bought into a decent platform. One doesn't need to rely on the highest quality component set built units available to post comments about.

So my post is relevant to this thread you posting about other psu brands well I'll let you stew about that one you're the only one that knows what you're doing here lol peace out.
