AMD Launches A520 Entry-level Desktop Chipset - No PCIe 4.0

What's the point of the B520 chipset if it doesn't support PCIE-4.0?
FYI, the previous generation chipsets including X470, B450, even X399 had PCIE 2.0 lanes off the chipset.
Yes not even 3.0, except the lanes directly from the CPU.
What you do lose is tons of IO - USB, SATA etc.
Actually the A520 has the same number of chipset lanes / SATA ports / USB as B450.
It just got an upgrade from PCI-E 2.0 to 3.0 for the chipset lanes.

Maybe I'm wrong on this, but I don't think the 4XX series is guaranteed to work with Ryzen 3. I believe that is all going to come down to if the motherboard mfr can fit the new chips into their BIOS, and is ok with running the support risks involved with having users flash the BIOS.

I would say that guaranteed future upgrade path would be a major reason to go with a 5XX series over a 4XX regardless of any other factors.
